I think that people who visit Hakone Shrine needs to be warned of the terrible traffic back and forth (from Hakone-Yumato station). We were stuck in the traffic for over an hour both back and forth due to the single lane roads in the mountains....More

last place of visit in hakone, a lovely shrine, not too busy compared to the more touristy fushimi inari shrine. a place where you can make a pray for your loves ones without being too crowded

We loved the setting of this shrine at the edge of Lake Ashi! It is beautiful to walk down through the giant evergreen trees to the tori gate at the edge of the lake. So serene.

Located at the foot of the mountain and on the shore of the lake Ashi, the Hakone Shrine is a place of the sacred atmosphere and beauty. After climbing the stairs, you will find yourself totally refreshed.
