Nice visit for half an hour.

The shrine is not special and probably not something that you haven't seen before but if you're already near Ashi lake then I would recommend a visit. It's very close to the main... read more

We took the pirate ship (Hakone Free pass) from the Cable cars to visit. It's a 15 minute walk from the ship dock but very picturesque.

Not far from the center this shrine is easy to access and the torii at the lakeside is beautiful. If you are lucky you can see the Torii and the Mt. Fuji behind it from the Motohakone Busstation next to the 7-Eleven

You've seen this a lot in pics and of course, you have to be here as well. It's a quick stroll with a nice view of Lake Ashi. A bit crowded and you have to line up to get a picture =) which is fine and orderly. You can come here before or after the Lake Ashi boat tour, takes... More

Great place to have a picture. The area is calming and quiet and the torii get is super interesting to look at.

Went here for a walk after visiting lake ashi by boat. This is a Nice place to walk through if you have the time, but it's not a must-visit-place. It's a short walk, so you will be quickly done.

We came across this shrine gate overlooking the lake as we ended our walk from Togendai along the lake. There was an orderly queue of people to take photos (and take photos of you too).

What a lovely peaceful setting this shrine is located at, slightly tricky to find but worth the effort. A gentle walk up the hill to a reasonable set of stairs with picture opportunities the whole time and opening up to a beautiful temple. On the walk down you are met by another tori gate right on the lake. Recommend.

We hoped to see a beautiful shrine at the side of Lake Ashi because some pictures of the torii was very nicely presented from the Lake. We were quite disappointed to see this rather small shrine with only a couple of buildings after almost a hundred steps up hill. We bought a ticket to the museum only to find that... More
