Ride the Tobu Nikko bus heading for Chuzenji Lake and make the stop at Akechidaira. I was not lucky. Arrived here and it was empty because the fog was so thick and no one rides the ropeway..

It was a very clear day so the views from the observation plateau were stunning. We had a perfect view of Kegon waterfall and Lake Chuzenji. We waited about half an hour to get on the cable car, but it was worth the wait.

Amazing views of the area, the observation deck is accessed via gondola and is on the bus route up to Lake Chuzenji. Go during spring or autumn for best views.

You will ride a cable car ride to arrive at the Observation area. From here is a magnificent westerly view of Chuzenji Lake and Kegon Falls.

We took Tobu bus and alighted at stop No. 23. The winding road up to Akechidaira is quite an experience. As it was winter, there was nothing much of viewing at the stop. However, it's worth to take the ropeway up. When you reach the...More

Moderately good views of the Kegon Waterfall and of Lake Chujenji on a non-sunny November day. Get off the bus from Nikko to Chuzengiko at the first stop after it finishes the 48 hairpin bends on the ascending road. This is the stop for the...More
