An absolutely beautiful garden, something I would like to see during all four season changes. Lovely piece of history and nurture of the centuries. A must visit spot during your time in Nara. This was my highlight this trip.

We went during Summer and it was so green and beautiful! Free guides are available. It's hard to find. You'll have to walk between a long walkways with a yellow wall and brown wall.

If you're visiting Nara Park you will almost certainly wander through or past Isui-en Garden. It is attractive but would not be worth a special trip itself.

We chose to go to this garden before the deer city and arrived at 10am. The garden entrance was 900yen each and got you entrance to the garden and the museum next door. Arriving at 10 was perfect as we missed all of the tour...More

My wife and I found this garden to be between ok and nice, certainly not worth the 1200 yen each for entry. Save your money and your legs getting there.

A beautiful, tranquil zen garden definitely worth a detour for a quiet wander. Lovely moss patchworks.

Both the garden and the museum that comes with the entrance fee were quite disappointing. Having visited a number of Japanese gardens already, Isuien appeared to be somewhat neglected, which detracts from the beautiful landscaping. The Yoshiki-en garden next door was better kept. The museum...More

Hi Jolly, You will find it is OK with stroller, you may need to hold baby here and there, because the path is not smooth like drive way. Hope it is helpful. Cheers, Linda
