Biwako valley ski resort is located at Mt. Hourai in northern part of Otsu city. It takes around 1hour from JR Osaka(大阪) to JR Shiga(志賀) station. It takes about 1hr from Osaka to Shiga by JR, then a 5min by bus to the entrance of Biwako Vally. It's a bit crowded over weekends but it is absolutely worth a visit! The view from the top over Biwako is just stunning!

For someone coming from a tropical country, Biwako Valley Ski Resort offers a quick and easily accessible location to see and experience snow in Japan. from Kyoto Station, take the JR Train Line to Shiga Station in Otsu. At Shiga Train Station, a bus comes around every 1 hour so you may have to wait a while for the bus... More

The view is fantastic! You can see all of the biwako in one glance. The valley also provides a varity of facility for family to enjoy. The cafe is so crowded that you might want to bring some food for youself.

It was a quite exciting experience! It is suitable for kids who meet the requirements. The price is reasonable comparing with the same activity in Singapore!

This place is so awesome....the path for the ski is amazing..(even i did not went there) n for those who do not ski...you can just play around..there is a cozy restaurant and you can hang around having your lunch over there...the cable car that took us to the top is quite big..so we dont need to wait that long...there is... A long ride up to Japan most tallest sky tower. Very high tech & a deck to watch Osaka from high above. Cool

Biwako valley is very close to Kyoto which take only an hour by JR train. One you arrived at Shiga Station, you will see the sign for Biwako Valley and the bus stop is just right in the front of the station. Bus fee is only 330 Yen and took about ten minutes to get to the base hill. When... More

Its rated amongst the top 20 buildings of the world by Time magazine and it was worth visiting, Would look better if visited at night to get a view of the city
