I took the bullet train from Fukuoka to Kitakyushu, Kagoshima, and Kumamoto. Though pricey it's well worth it. The ride is super smooth and you get there in a heartbeat. There is no better way to travel.

Riding this train feels like riding a them-park ride. It's so much fun. The speeds are unreal, the comfort - superb, and the service - wonderful. Highly recommended!

We took Kyushu Shinkansen to Kumamoto. The train is beautiful and clean and of course quite fast. So The only regret was why so fast?

Took the sakura train from Hakata to Kumamoto, it was my fabulous experience! I think its "a must do" if you ever travel to japan, it's clean, fast and excellent transportation.

If you're going to Japan, the Shinkansen (bullet train) is a must-do. It's incredibly smooth, quiet and efficient. Be sure to buy tickets in advance - from home. There are discounted packages for tourists but they are only available outside Japan. Check guidebooks for details.
