We visited Yusentei Park for a few hours in the afternoon. There is a Japanese house that serves Macca and rice sweets in the traditional way. It is a lovely spot to sit and quietly catch up with friends or take in the tranquility of the surrounding park. If you have children you can buy fish food and feed the... More

Entry is 200yen to walk around d the gardens ; there is beautiful scenery, bonsai trees, a waterfall and koi pond. You can also pay 300yen for a coffee or matcha tea to drink in the tea house overlooking the garden. This place is super relaxing .

A very quite and traditional park, with no tourists. There is a cute little tea house over the lake, with nice macha tea. Bring a book and enjoy the serenity.

We visited Yusentei Park on a weekday and were delighted to share the space with a group of beautiful ladies clad in kimono. The park was built in 1754 for the original purpose of a second home for Kuroda Tsugutaka, the 6th lord of Fukuoka. Although the park would definitely have a more unique look in the peak of autumn,... More

We were delighted to catch the full autumn splendour so late in the year. The park is not large but the gardens were soooo beautiful in autumn with its different coloured trees. The tea house offered such a breathtaking view of the garden n the koi ponds. Please be sure to get your car park tokens from the ticket booth... More

Must visiting adventure in Fukuoka. Despite the fact that buses can be hard to find. Easier access with fukuoka traveler one day pass. Inside the park, it's very peaceful.

Though it has been many years since my visit (2006) I still consider this to be one of my favorite places. The gardens were absolutely beautiful in April with a very light mist falling and adding to the overall sense of calm and beauty. Spend quite a bit of time wondering through the garden as well as sitting seiza and... More

Beautiful hydrangea flowers were blooming. The orange kio fish were swimming in the pond. Pretty place. Then we had the delicious matcha green tea in the tea house. We were luck to meet an engaged couple coming in for a ceremonial tea and they let us take a picture. Hard to believe you are in a city!

Making our way there by buses is convenient. The walk from non-stop to the park was eye-opening where small shops and traditional houses were found. The entrance is so majestic that you won't miss it. Entry tickets were barely ¥100 and what we witness is pleasing to the soul and sensory. Enjoy with a brew of green tea with dessert... More

Very lovely and traditional Japanese garden . You should really visit it. The entrance fee is 300 Y if I remember and you can have green tea there. Only bad point, the location is not convenient. You will have to take the bus from Tenjin, I think it was number #12 to reach this park. Enjoy !
