Felt like the Halong Bay in Vietnam. On a clear good day, the view of this attraction is magnificent from the view points. There are limited buses to the viewpoints and so it may be better to rent a car if you do not want to rush.

The islands are not particularly breathtaking, but it was a lovely sight. The brand new boats are a very smooth ride that allows you to really enjoy the view. The scenery was so calm, I wish it lasted a bit longer than 50 minutes though !

I recommend to take the boat trip before you go to the overlook. The one hour boat trip is a close up overview of the 208 islands. 99 simply means many. The exact number is 208 islands. Spare at least half day at the sea pearl resort area. The area includes shops, restaurants, aquarium and many scenic spots.

Took the boat tour something to do while in the Nagasaki area. It wasn't bad, but certainly glad it was only an hour. There really isn't any special to these small island that the boat goes past. The boat that looks like a pirate hat is brand new, very nice. There are food vendors along the walkways for a light... More

Amazing place to watch the sunset, a small park area also for kids to play. Get there a bit early as it fills up around dawn

There were numerous islands on the sea of Sasebo city. It is considered that it have the highest islands density in Japan. I took an excursion boat to see those islands on the sea. In addition, I visited two gazebo. To be honest, I felt it is better to look islands from gazebo than a cruiser. There were many many... More

We went to Kujuku shima in November. It was relaxing to go on an electric ship to cruise around and there was English guidance on the ship for those who don't speak Japanese. On the ship, we just could look at the far away islands and know the names of the islands. Next time I would love to choose another... More

Went on the cruise around 99 islands and did a little shopping. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from. There was a nice walk along the pier that led to a small shrine. Not too far along was a pleasant hike to an observatory. Fantastic view!

I went to the 99 island by my self. Reach The observation deck need go by Shuttle bus or by taxi. The shuttle bus is for one zoo, but it's free so people r using it. But time is not flexible. So it's better rent a taxi. You can negotiate with them. In my case I payed around 2000jpy for... More
