Beautiful park setting

Beautiful gardens and paths to stroll. Great views from the castle grounds. Walk along the stream and admire the fish swimming.

We visited just in time at the peak cherry blossom (April 20 - 25). By the way, this is an early for Morioka cherry blossom according to a local. It was beautiful, especially you walk through cherry blossom tunnels. I recommend go both day and night as during cherry blossom festival, the cherry blossom trees are lit up, and you... More

The Castle Ruins in Morioka is a wonderful place to visit during the entire year. It offers beautiful colors, varying by the season, and sharing the natural beauty of the solid rock castle remnants that surround the grounds. In Spring and other non-rainy days it is a beautiful place to go for relaxing, enjoying a picnic, or just walking on... More

The ruins and moats of the castle have been converted into a multi-level garden and play area very pleasant for strolling and often hosting special summer events.

This beautiful windswept park leads down to a small stream, that is lit by gas lamps, that light the area with a soft golden light. A beautiful restful spot, right in the middle of Morioka

Very peaceful and lovely location. Catch the public bus and it's about a 15 minute ride. Plenty of trees turning colors and there is also a picturesque stream with koi.

The ruins consist of massive stone foundations, one above another, leading to a fine view of the city; an exhilarating little climb. I was there at the end of October as the leaves were changing--bright yellow ginko, a maples just changing with colors from green to yellow to scarlet, the more subtle hues of the cherry.

Right now in autumn the colours are very pleasant. There is a Canadian maple faith extraordinary color near Victoria road. We also visited the rose garden and a temple with an unusually shaped granite rock.
