As the name says it's a mosque where the sultan goes to pray . It is a magnificent building on the main high way facing the Singapore and the sea . I don't know if we can go inside . But yes I just saw it from the moving car

The mosque was under renovation when I last visited. But , even then, I noticed it was beautifully sculpture.Viewing it from the outside, it still had the serenity in the atmosphere. It cannot be pinpointed, but it was there. It is a place worth visiting, but remember, follow the rules and culture of the place.

This mosque can accommodate about 2,000 worshippers at any one time. The mosque is strategically located on top of a hill on Jalan Abu Bakar, overlooking the Straits of Tebrau. Sultan Abu Bakar mosque was named after the late Sultan Abu Bakar, the "Father of Modern Johor",

The Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque in Johor Bahru,Malaysia is a must stop for tourists. It is situated in a hilly part of the place. It is majestic in its structure with its massive form but not devoid of details. The white color of the mosque makes it stand out even more. The calming sight of the water from behind it... More

After long trip from KL, we've stopped here to recharge our mind, energy and soul. I like the architecture, the blend of malayan and European architecture. The view from mosque was great. You can see the strait and Singapore. I think it would be great if I stopped at night
