This is the house of Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaya's first prime minister. Free entrance. A must-visit for history buffs. So more there is an air conditioner in it.

It is a monument to Malaysian independence
Dec 2017 • Family
This house belongs to the late Tunku Abdul Rahman, Prime Minister of Malaysia and one of the greatest historical fathers of the nation of Malaysia. The house is obviously slightly modified and retouched to stand the weather and the pollutant agents of the modern city of Alor Setar. However, this place is a must visit because it does help in giving you the feeling of nationhood the Malaysian people under the gemilang felt in the historical moment they got free from the British Empire

Independence House
Nov 2016 • Family
Rumah Merdeka which means "Independence House"in Malay, is a house that was once owned by the 1st prime minister of Malaysia, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. Inside Rumah Merdeka, visitors will able to see some personal collections of Tunku and his family. Most of the items such as the furniture and the layout of the house are maintained in their original positions. This attraction is open on every Tuesday-Sunday from 10am-6:30pm with a free admission but sadly, photography is not allowed inside. Nevertheless, my mum and I enjoyed very much our visit to Rumah Merdeka.
