Much appreciated break from the heat. The aquarium is beautifully laid out with a variety of animals. Feels like you’re out in the forest then under the sea as you walk through. Well cared for animals, serene atmosphere. We visited at 11 and missed most of the feedings. The ocean tunnel was empty of fish or penguins as they were being fed. Suggest checking the feeding times so you’re at the right enclosures to see the action. We read most of the write ups and viewed all of the tanks leisurely and ended up being there for 2.5hrs. There are discounts for pensioners, kids under 12 and Malaysian citizens.

Worth a visit for a couple of hours. Lots of information dotted around explaining the underwater world. Variety of fish and undersea life to see as well as penguins. If you want to see some of the fish or penguins being fed there are times slots that may want to check before you arrive.

A “good to see” experience. See the Penguins being fed at 11am and the Otters are fun at feeding time 11:45am.
Lots to see including an underwater passageway to watch giant turtles glide over the top of you.

The alligator gar is a fascinating and ancient apex predator that embodies strength and resilience. Its diamond-shaped, armor-like ganoid scales are not only visually striking but also highly functional, offering exceptional protection. These scales, historically used as arrowheads, highlight its unique connection to both nature and human history. With its sleek, torpedo-shaped body and powerful jaws, the alligator gar is a formidable hunter and a vital part of aquatic ecosystems. Its ability to thrive for millions of years showcases its adaptability and evolutionary success. Observing or learning about the alligator gar is a captivating journey into Earth’s prehistoric past.

I had an amazing time visiting Underwater World Langkawi! The aquarium has a wide variety of marine life, and the exhibits are well-maintained and informative. One of the highlights for me was walking through the underwater tunnel. It was such a surreal experience to see sharks and other fish swimming all around 🦈🐠
The penguin section was another favorite. It was so fun watching them waddle and swim 🐧 It’s a great place for families, kids, or anyone who loves marine life. I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary when visiting Langkawi!

I had such a great time at Underwater World Langkawi! The educators are so helpful and always ready to answer any questions about the animals or the place itself. Their knowledge and friendly attitude really made the experience even better! I even got a chance to see a feeding session by a skilled diver, which was truly fascinating. It’s a great spot to visit, and I enjoyed every section, especially the penguins. they’re just too cute! The entire attraction is well-maintained, and we got to see a stunning variety of fascinating, beautiful, and mystical sea creatures. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Langkawi 😍

Best to purchase tickets at trips dot com. Got a lot of discounts and far way cheaper than other platforms. There are plenty of sea animals. Worth and recommended to pay a visit here. Staffs are friendly too.

I will reach in langkawi at 2:30 pm on 10th September.will it be wise to ride cable car and visit oriental village on that day?will cable car be open on 11th or 12 th September as it is Eid day?on Eid day which places should I select to roam around?mangrove forest, eagle square, underwater world, island hopping, pulau payar marine park, bird paradise-among these places which places should be selected on Eid day?
Written 29 August 2016
Normal operation for Langkawi SkyCab is 09.30am to 7.00pm on weekdays, weekends, school holiday and public holiday.
Although I would not recommend to go for sky bridge on eid day.
You could plan up with adventure sports rather,
find out about ATV extreme sports - in melaka i guess.
Its a nice ride with the guide reserve in advance.
Eagle square is just a photo spot.
cenang beach is good for water sports.
Underwater world is not worth - mangrove forest, island hopping is fun , kilim geoforest park and marine parks are good. You can carry your swimming clothes some packed food, beverages and water.
Beware of the monkeys.
Good luck.

I'm visiting Langkawi off a cruise ship next month and would like to visit UWL. Although the cruise has a tour which visits, I would prefer to go just with my family. How do I get to UWL from the area where the cruise ship will dock?
do I need local currency or do you accept credit cards?
Written 21 August 2016
As i traveled there not long ago, there's probably only one ferry terminal for big ships. I would advice you to take taxi, which is run by the local government and the price is fixed by distance, at the ferry terminal to reach the UWL. It'll take half an hour for the trip.
The entrance fee of UWL probably costs cash as i remembered, so you need cash to pay the taxi and the entrance fee.
