Does not expect much. But was surprise during the visit. Local quality product better sold in chenang beach which mostly imported from thailand. My kids having fun painting batik which just cost rm10. There's a small heritage museum which is interesting & its free. A place where u can buy locally made product.

Definitely a must see if you love art
Aug 2019 • Family
We spent around three hours here and were impressed by what was on display. You could see ceramics, weavings, carvings, batiks and many other traditional art forms. We were able to see some of the artisans at work in the center and they were able to stop and discuss what they were up to. We met one very talented batik artist Mr Jasni and he was happy to discuss his work with us. He has great passion for what he is doing and has a real talent for what he is doing. His works are for sale and we bought several of his pieces. There are also some hands on activities for both young and old to do as well. I would definitely come visit this place next time I am in Langkawi.

Well worth a visit

We went to the Langkawi Craft Market this morning there were some stunning artisan pieces see photo of a teak hand carving that’s going home with me. Some of the items are what you would see anywhere but some are unique . Prices are excellent and staff are helpful and polite. Well worth a visit . I will visit again.

Interesting and authentic
Jul 2019 • Couples
We visited on a Saturday. It was very quiet (maybe busier in high season?) It is a really good place to get authentic, handmade souvenirs and help the local craftspeople. We say Batik being done on the premises. The products are all local and well priced. There is also a small museum attached which has some interesting displays and information about traditional Malay way of life and culture. We spent a couple of hours there. Good place if it is raining as well. We didn't see many other visitors during our visit but that is nothing to do with the quality of goods or the complex. Well worth a visit.

Good batik and souvenirs

I will visit this complex each time I am in Langkawi because i like the souvenirs collection here. They have varieties of souvenirs from different vendors but the best to me is Karangkraf batik collection (materials and ready to wear). They have lots of things to choose from and there is also batik painting activities for adults and kids

Interesting

It looks tacky from the outside but it's interesting because for instance there's a workshop where you can actually see how they make batiks. There's also some ceramic crafts.
It's worth a look. When we went there we were lucky because there was nobody. We have been told that they regularly get entire buses of tourists. It must not as pleasant as our experience.

Very quiet
Feb 2019 • Couples
The Langkawi Craft Complex is an extensive group of buildings, not only showcasing a broad range of Malaysian handicraft, and put in on sale as well, but part of it is a heritage museum, showing Malaysian heritage in several dioramas. The Langkawi Craft Complex is easily reached by car and offers a large parking area. It was ominously quiet that day we visited, making us wonder why this interesting exhibition doesn't attract more visitors. Maybe we were there on the wrong day.

Very quiet..

I think we were 2 of possibly 10 visitors the day we went. Which is odd. It’s a modern complex with Islamic tones, and contains various crafts, from simple souvenirs to quite good ceramics and jewellery. And Batik of course. Well worth a potter round. There’s a separate glass blowing studio at the back, but whilst the glassware is well done, it’s not our style, and I’ve seen glass blowing before. In the middle, and poorly signed, is a Malay wedding museum, which is worth the visit on its own. Given the ratio of sellers to visitors (at least 5:1!) there was little or no hassle, and the small number of things we did buy were very easy transactions.

Interesting place

Other than shopping, you can see them doing batik paintings, a small museum that you can learn more about their traditions and weddings. There's a little eating place, selling malay and thai food at low prices. Linked with the glass and crystal making place.
