    Impressive but can be crowded
We went in the morning which is preferable as it can get very hot and humid later in the day. However our visit coincided with a large army of people who had disembarked from a cruise ship and resulted in long lines but once on the sky can we got to the top fairly quickly. Our only criticism is the fact that you need to be quite fit and that hat the funicular broke down which meant we had to descend steps down a steep hill to get to the sky bridge . Fortunately they fixed the problem before we were ready to go back to take the sky cab down but there was an extra charge to use the funicular. Great views from the top and plenty of monkeys at the end of the sky bridge which again attracts a small charge . There are loads of art and craft shops at the base station as well as a few restaurants but is a bit touristy.
Dear valued customer, thank you for your sincere review about Langkawi SkyCab, the number one attraction in Langkawi. It is a pleasure for us to have you here. Here is a place for you to enjoy the amazing scenery of Langkawi from the peak of Mount Machinchang. Hope you enjoy your time here. We really hope to see you again in the future and hope to see you again soon.

A Got to Go when in Langkawi!!!
What a great day out. We paid for the Express Lane on the Skycab as we know it gets very busy with long queues, it costs more but well worth it. The first leg very high and steep, the first stop being the centre station where you can get out and have a walk around - the views over Langkawi islands are truly great. Then the train is reboarded and this time it goes from one mountain top to another - quite scary as it is an awful long way down!! At the top there is a restaurant with more viewing stations and, reached by a very steep path down and feels even steeper going up it on the return journey, or by a little railway coach, is the Sky Bridge, which is a fantastic walkway with transparent sections along the floor which give a view of some 660 metres down - boy, that's sure a long drop! Feels like the top of the world. I would not recommended the path for the infirm. The railway coach is a separate charge, and queues can be long, but well worth it.

Awesome sky cab with great scenery
Long queue in the morning during holiday season. Pay a fees of RM43 per adult per package. It worth to pay a visit and enjoy the scenery and excitement boarding the sky cab. There are 2 stations. I will recommend direct to the 2nd station (highest) first and when you coming down later you may stop at the 1st station.
Dear Visitor, thank you for your sincere review about Langkawi SkyCab, the number one attraction in Langkawi. Our cable car ride will take you to the peak of Mount Machinchang to enjoy the magnificent scenery of Langkawi. To avoid the huge crowd and long queues, it is advisable for you to purchase the Express Lane ticket to save up your time. Stating in December is Malaysia school holidays and the whole month is the peak time for Langkawi Skycab. We can suggest for you to come before 9 am and after 4 pm, but also depend on crowd and group comingThere are two stations on your way up to the Top Station where you can stop by and capture your moments there. Once again, we would like to thank you for your recent visit here and hope to see you again soon

There is a reason this is the number one Thing to Do in Langkawi. The Sky cab sits high up above the mountains on the north west side of the island was was very close to our hotel. We pre-booked and selected the new 360 sky cable cars,, which effectively meant we had the cable car to ourselves the entire time as it seemed few others booked them. Thankfully, it didn’t rain so we were able to take in the stunning views. It was very busy during our trip and it was wonderful to see that it was a spot for both local and international tourists. We had a good walk round, taking too many selfies. Do not miss the 3D art gallery as that was awesome.
We didn’t go on the bridge or sky glide as the queues were rather long and we didn’t fancy a long walk - the rain was also threatening at this point - but if you can, don’t miss these.

Panorama Langkawi is one part out of four while visiting this place. Cable car or Telefrek 2 ways with a junction stop at the middle. You can continue to the SkyWalk on feet or use elevator for extra charges. The first part will let you see beautiful Langkawi from the top Many beautiful trees, faunas and monkeys. Don’t forget to picture the head of the eagle. Continue walk is not easy for elders and children. The steps are not even and a bit risky.

We were very unlucky as it was a cloudy day when we went. So, we could not see the lovely scenery of Langkawi from the top. But, still overall, me and my family enjoyed to some extent.

We bought our tickets on Klook - which was a combined one for glass gondola + Sky Glide (funicular lift) + Express Lane + Sky Bridge for RM 120 each. The Express Lane was very worth it because we saw a huge line for ordinary lane and an absolutely empty Express Lane. We could wiz through. Also, every time you have to take the gondola to go up and come down, you are given preference because of the Express Lane. So, I will definitely recommend that.

We took the Glass Gondola which was not very impressive. The glass floor was not very clear. So, I would recommend taking an ordinary gondola. Also, the glass gondola takes a lot of time to come so you have to keep waiting. So, the Express Lane ticket then becomes a waste. So, take ordinary gondola, but opt for Express Lane. I think that's the best combination.

There is a mid station which we were not aware about which is pretty useless. So, if you have less time, then you can avoid getting down at the mid station and continue your journey to the higher and last station.

At the last station is where you get down and go to the remarkable Sky Bridge. You can either go by stairs or take the Sky Glide which is a funicular elevator. There is a short queue for that as the elevator takes in about 10 people at a time. If there is a huge rush then the waiting time here could be much longer. But, still it is worth it to take the funicular because of the novelty of it and the lovely view you get from there. While going to the Sky Bridge, the funicular goes down and when you come back it goes up. Also, a tip for a nice video. When the funicular goes up stand in the front side and take a video as it moves up. This will be a nice video of the track and the beautiful surrounding as you go up.

At the Sky Bridge it was a disappointment because it was all very cloudy and misty and we could not see anything from there. However, since we went on the Malaysia Independence Day weekend, the Sky Bridge was beautifully decorated with many Malaysia flags. It is a nice back drop for a photograph as you stand on the bridge.

After we came back up from the Sky Bridge to the last station, I related to my family about the fact that Shah Rukh Khan's Don movie was shot there - the climax scene between him and Boman Irani. We actually found the platform where it was shot and clicked a photograph there!

There is also a bridge where people in love put up locks. There are thousands of locks there and again makes a beautiful back drop for a picture. There is a cafe and an ice cream parlour. We enjoyed hot corn and ice cream there before we made our way back down the gondola.

The entrance to the Sky Cab is through a shopping centre called Oriental Village. It is quite pretty with lots of garment shops + eateries. My wife and my daughter bought very nice linen pyjamas there.

Overall, we spent around 1.5 hours there.

My most important tip would be to check the weather. If it is cloudy then wait for it to clear up. The best part is to see the view from top.

Worth going as it was the highlight of the day. Was advised not to book online early due to unpredictable weather. My elderly mum went as there was glide cab (extra charge) and queue was not that bad. All in all, Oriental village, views up there - superb!

Great experience with great views of Langkawi. We got express tickets. The only thing we had to wait for was the skyglide to the bridge. We had to wait a while at the top for clouds to clear but it was worth it. Would recommend the 360 gondola as it was nice and cooling when moving.

The cable car ride itself is a fun little joyride for you to experience spectacular mountain views at dizzying heights.

However, the surrounding facilities at the base of the mountain seem to be a shadow of its former self, most likely hit very badly by the C19 pandemic. The majority of shops, cafes and theme park rides were closed down, boarded up or blocked off with signs saying “closed for renovations” which is a nice way of branding those shops as “no longer viable or lucrative” given there were no construction works to be seen. What little vendors are left make for a very sad and sorry welcome party for the area.

The maintenance of the place also needs a lot of TLC - I saw cracked pavement, broken tiles on the ground in main thoroughfare and chipped and mouldy paint on railings and on the buildings that were still operating.

What would have been a great tourist attraction in its heyday maybe 3–5 years ago is now a somewhat tired and down’n’out pit stop to kill time.

No question the views are stunning, but what an absolute shambles of a business!!! Book online avoid the queues, nope you just get to stand in another queue with the tour operators also trying to get wrist bands for 50 people. Forget it, if you must go; don’t book in advance just turn up buy your tickets and get the express lane option. Don’t expect queuing etiquette either, the experience here is 10x worse than a French ski lift, which I didnt think was possible!! Expect certain nationalities to expect to have gondolas to themselves and ask for you to be removed from the queue! I kid you not this happened to us!! What should have been a lovely trip up the mountain ended up as a terrible day out! Topped off by our Grab taxi cancelling us for a bigger fare the bas***d! Such a shame to end on the worst experience of our trip to Malaysia.

Great views up, except it was cloudy at the top so we didn’t get to see the full panoramic view of Langkawi. Was very busy and would recommend getting an express pass to avoid the long queues. We didn’t realise the 3D art place was included in our pass, but they still allowed us to visit that the following day which was good of them.

A super wonderful place....must see. The ride from the bottom to the top of the hill is very picturesque. Beautiful view of the mountain ahead and ocean with islands at back. The clouds ingulfing the mountain.

The walk on the skybridge is super awesome.

However our taxi driver from the airport tried to cheat us. He told us the place is closed for maintenance as it rained heavily the previous night and would reopen at 4 pm. He offered to show us other places around. He even made a fake phonecall to one person claiming to be guard at the skycab. ALL FAKE. We somehow understood the intent and asked to be dropped off at the skycab, despite being closed.

We reached there, and as expected, it was open and running normally.

BEWARE of such persons.
