We booked our sunset catamaran cruise on the Cruise ship, The port was literally 5 minutes from where we docked in Awana Porto Malai harbour.
From the minute you get on the boat the drinks are served and you never went without one.
I wasn't expecting much from the food but I was really surprised, it was the most tasty fresh food, with plenty of choice.
I had the prawns, Malaysian Beef Curry, rice and salad, all cooked to perfection and you could keep going back time and time again.
The highlight was jumping into the net at the back of the boat, it was like being in a giant Jacuzzi and god what a laugh it was, girls beware make sure your bikini's are well fitted as I fought to keep mine on.
Then you get to watch the beautiful sunset before cruising back to port.
Can't recommend this cruise enough

All the crew were so welcoming and looked after us so well. It was an amazing trip - over 3 hours but no-one noticed as we we were too busy having fun! The staff were so attentive and our fellow travellers all joined in the fun and helped create a great atmosphere.
Oh aye, mustn’t forget the point of the exercise (?), the sunset views were absolutely breathtaking!!

It's REALLY worth going for the Sunset Cruise. We spend a little less than 4 hours on the small catamaran. For ur info, the catamaran is for a group of 12 pax. Activities includes swim in the net, dragged in the floats, kayak ride, with the life jacket of course. Too bad we did'nt have a full view of the sunset due to cloudy sky. In short, just go for it, further more it is a "halal" cruise.

This lady called Ayu Idawati Azimat is an agent for several sunset cruise companies in Langkawi. We booked our 2020 yearend cruise from her and ended with a disaster. She could promise you everything and would provide the best cruise and arrangement but this was not true. She sounded very nice and friendly on the phone, said our cruise is flexible and offer us the best dinner onboard. On that day, we were told by the captain that the food was the cheapest choices and asked us to pay additional if we want to stay longer. Ayu said our cruise can start anytime, so long is 4 hours. So we decided to start at 6pm and thought our cruise would end at 10pm but that was not true. The captain said we had to return by 8pm unless we top up RM1000, then he could stretch the time till 9pm.

This arrangement was a disaster. The food served was a very simple 4 dishes home cooked food. We tried to contact Ayu but she refused to answer the calls. So we ended up finished closed to 9pm. The captain was kind and sympathized with our situation.

So, please beware when you book any sunset cruise. Go direct to the company instead through an agent.

CRYSTAL Sunset yacht tour, was sensatonal.
The purposefully built catermaran, allowed for easy moving around the yacht.
The spacious layout, made for meeting, chatting, and eventually dancing.
The Staff of CRYSTAL yachts were excellent in their attentiveness, free pouring, with abundant tasy food.
The special cruise around the islands, had the yqcht well positioned for the fabulous setting sun on the sea.
This was my 3rd cruise. And what a delight.
Thanks team.

This Sunset cruise last night 30Dec23 was one of the highlights of our trip. From stepping in to the yacht, we were treated to tremendous hospitality by the captain and crew. The jacuzzi swim lying on the net with a beer in hand in the open ocean was a thrilling experience, the sunset photography was amazing, and the hot BBQ grill dinner (inc veg options) and drinks were aplenty. Then we got into the mood for a DJ session dancing all the way back to shore. I highly recommend this evening of fun and leisure in Langkawi to you.

We booked our cruise with Danna. The food is terrible, I got the chicken which was still raw. I wanted to basically jump off the boat and swim back to the resort. I hated every minute I was on it, the only good thing I can think about was that the view at sunset was amazing. If you are into being bored on a boat while you are served bad food, then go ahead and do it.

Went on this what was suppose to be a dinner cruise. Boat resembled something from the kids cartoon Captain Bugwash ,thought we would be on the catamaran shown on the brochure but this was not to be. Crammed in like sardines. Food was cold chicken, cold satay and cold prawns. Make sure you book dinner at a local restaurant for your return. No space to move around no entertainment. The only reason i have given it a rating of 2 is because of the staff. Dont waste your money not worth the £110.00 we spent. Felt sorry for the Australian couple who were on there honeymoon ,but best wishes to them for the future, Dave & Cathy Wilson.

Well...we survived! We are in Langkawi for our honeymoon and have just got back from what we thought would be the highlight of our time here. This was definitely not the case! We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the jetty where we were ushered in with all of the other guests travelling on boats that night. We were given a ticket and told to find a seat and wait. When everyone else had arrived, we were then called up by our ticket and there seemed to be confusion about who was meant to go on which boat. We get into the smaller boat and bypass the magnificent looking catamaran docked at the jetty, which we initially thought would be our vessel for the evening. Instead, we were taken out to this beaten up, worn out old boat. Our immediate thoughts were that there must be a mistake, considering how much we had paid for this evening ($120AUD each). Again, this was not the case.

The boat was very squashy, we were sitting amongst 14 other guests and it was very uncomfortable if someone moved. We were given cheap Skol beers in cans- duty free island, would have cost very little- not worth the money we'd paid.
Dinner was cooked by the captain's wife on an electric skillet. Satay chicken skewers and some prawns. We literally had to crawl around the boat to get our food, and then find a small space to eat. Again, for the money you pay, it simply isn't worth it. The dessert was some cut up watermelon and some slivers of banana bread.
The sunset is great, but no greater than you'd get on the mainland. The only thing we enjoyed about this whole trip was the lovely Scottish couple we met, who also weren't impressed with how much they'd payed for what they'd received.

Quite simply, don't bother spending your money on this. You're better off splurging on something worthwhile.

The 5 star reviews for this activity must be fake - this was by far the WORST thing we did on our entire trip to Langkawi. Firstly, it was billed as a sunset cruise, but the boat drivers were so distracted by the young Japanese girls on our voyage that we missed the sunset entirely as they didn't bother to take the boat past the cliffs which were blocking the view (despite assuring us that that would happen). Secondly, the "jacuzzi" is a net, dangling off the side of the boat, which you can jump into at your own peril. Thirdly, the crew actually advised us after we'd already left the port to avoid using the toilet if at all possible, so that basically meant no drinking on a three hour cruise. Fourthly, this was TERRIBLE value - at over $100 AUD each, we got a sausage sizzle and some cheap beer. Finally, the water off the coast of Langkawi (or at least where the boat took us) is actually pretty disgusting and filled with garbage and other refuse, so not really as idyllic as you would expect. Save your money and have a nice dinner on land instead.
