Went there for a hiking trip. Took the trail from Bukit Pelindung to Teluk cempedak loop. Almost 10km both ways. Good hiking experience. The tracks are well maintained and clean.

This little known hill separate the inland from the famous Teluk Cempedak, thus the name 'Pelindung', means to provide shelter. Located near the Kuantan city itself, this recreational park is very accessible to the locals, and visitors too.
There is a paved road all the way to the two peaks which house the communication transmission towers. About midway up these steep incline, you can see the main trail on your right side, which goes downhill towards Teluk Cempedak beach. The trail is about 2 km and should provide a fairly good work out.
Where certain hills provide steps, I personally prefer these paved/non-paved with no steps since the gradient allows me to modulate my steps, thus reducing the stressful impact of to my knees when going downhill, on steps.

A awesome place for recreation in the morning or afternoon. Anyway from the hustle smoke and noises, Beautiful environment with green and great view from the top. You can jogg up or cycle. Designed walking trails available until you reach the sea. If you happen to be in Kuantan, please try tracking Bukit Pelindung.

Even with a very steep start and a painful knee. It’s crowed so it helps to motivate you along when you see older folks and much younger kids walking with ease. It’s cool and fresh to hike up even on a hot, sunny afternoon. Unfortunately when we reached the TOP, we missed the sight of the Kuantan City.

Located at Jalan Tengku Muhammad, Kuantan. Very close to the most popular Telok Cempedak Beach. Nice spot for those who like to hike and exercise. It takes slightly an hour to complete depends on your fitness. Normally many hikers go there during weekends. Car parking in the evenings could be a challenge due to limited space along the housing area. Even though not far city center, we can feel the fresh air and nice greenery. Not difficult to hike because walkway are paved all the way to the top where the telecommunication towers are located. There also have jungle walkaway to Telok Cempedak.

This is the second part of the trail which connect the bituminised road to the jungle trail down to Teluk Cempedak (TC) beach. The top 1/3 looks like a pure walking trail while the final 2/3 is shared with mountain bike downhill.

This trail is clean and moderately wide. Steep enough to knock the breath out of you, unless you are relatively fit. Park your car at the TC, and follow the trail sign board from the wooden walkway along TC beach. Dont expect to see many people to venture into this, but you will enjoy the experience. Good luck.

The hill is pretty steep with several exercise stations along the way. Once you get to the top it has a great view of Kuantan town. There are also jungle tracks for the more adventurous. But do not go into them if it has been raining because it gets really slippery & dangerous. It would be really great as well if the visitors can stop littering this beautiful place.

Good place for hiking and only takes slightly more than an hour to complete. Car parking in the evenings could be a challenge due to limited space along the housing area. Nice greenery, fresh air and walkway are paved all the way to the top where the telecommunication towers are located.

From the midway can branch out to Teluk Cempedak beach through the jungle walkway. Some level of fitness required.
