The war memorial is right outside the train station. You can visit there while you are leaving the train station. Very well maintained.

The next stop after the Ipoh Railway Station is the Ipoh War Memorial. Yes, it is on the Heritage Walk. It is good that they honored the fallen heroes of the World War I and also the second world war where this country and even this town was involved in.
It otherwise just one small plague or dedication which is part of the Ipoh Railway Station garden. It's not very big but seeing that its on the list of things to do in Ipoh it is also quite well maintained.

I went by here as I was going to the train station to check tickets. It's a nice war memorial but really not much to see really.

This memorial built and unveiled in 1927 is located in front of Ipoh Railway Station.
Its isnt something attractive to look at but well maintained and clean and of historical significance.
It held to commemorate those who had died in the World War I in 1914 to 1918, World War II in 1939 to 1945, the Emergency and Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation in 1962 to 1966, and thousands of war prisoners and civilians who perished at the Thailand-Burma Death Railway between 1943 and 1945.

This is a small war memorial located close to the railway station in central Ipoh. A quick visit is sufficient and it is easily combined with visiting the nearby historical district.

The war memorial is set up as a memorial to the war dead from Malaysia's various wars and conflicts. I really kind of stumbled upon it after visiting the Rail Station.

It is a well maintained memorial but there are no details or information about it. I would have loved to know more about this place.

In recent years this cenotaph has been moved from near the Railway Station to a point halfway between the Station and the Town Hall. The work done is a credit to the Ipoh Council, and the credit for having the idea to do it, belongs to Dato R Thambipillay, a former Superintendant of the Malay Police.
