It was fun to walk around and see the history and walk down concubine lane. It was busy but well worth the time

While there are occasional gems, much of the street art is faded and poorly-maintained. The quality is not as good as in other places in Malaysia. Overrated.

Managed to get some late night dining and food shopping around Market Lane and Concubine Lane, after walkabout from Padang and Arlene House. Although traditional coffee shops were shut after 9pm, we found some new F&B cafes and biscuit confectionary shops still open in the area. Plan B was quiet and dark, so we walked further down the road admiring mural artwork and bought local biscuits like Kuih Kapek, Bangkek and Menglembu groundnuts from Lim's Delights - friendly staff offering tips for late night dining nearby.

Walked through Concubine Lane and found several open air restaurants with roadside tables near the Hakka Tin Mine museum. They were quite busy, so we walked back to Market Lane and decided to try DUAL fusion Asian-Western cuisine offered by new cafe located in a beautifully renovated corner shophouse. The interiors are like works of art with traditional peranakan windows and doors, rustic walls and staircases - very spacious lively night cafe with young people meeting up on Saturday night.

It's a famous and must go area for locals and travellers to chill and explore. The murals present Ipoh's features amazingly.

The murals around the town are worth appreciating and a must visit. The themes and their locales both are great.

We took a walk around town in the mid afternoon looking for the street art. It was quiet and we took really nice photos. Some paintings were faded but overall, they were really nice.

Plenty of mural art paintings along the streets. Instagrammable photos against the blue sky. Go early in the morning as there is no shade at all and gets very hot during the day.

We only had 1 night here on our way to Cameron so upon arrival after a shower we headed into Old Town.
Similar as Penang but less vibrant, I guess the signs of recession also are hitting Malaysia.
Anyway we had and enjoyable walk and were able to take some good shots.

We just came across these as we walked around so it made our travels interesting. The only downside to the art is that its fading in the tropical sun. It could be time to repaint or refresh the paintings before they are gone.
