A good visit to understand the history of Ipoh and the mining business. Beautiful exterior and flavourful interior which transport visitors to the time where pleasure and entertainment were a much different experience to the people. It is also a good intro to the hakka culture and how ipoh old town came to be. Thus providing a more indepth experience when the visitor lay steps around the old town and taste food from the locals.

If you like some biographies of successful people, this will be a great place for you. I personally love museums as they allow me to feel the olden days. This will be one of the museums that I highly recommend tourists to explore. You do not have to pay a single penny, and there are complimentary drinks at the end of the tour. A kind reminder, do book a place once you have reached there before you go for "yamcha," especially during festival seasons.

This museum presents a vivid account of the journey of how an one-man herbal tea business developed into the most famous household brand in Malaysia.
The staff are courteous and rendering a very professional service.
Due to the reserved structure of the building, the entrance is limited to fewer visitors at any one time; reservation in advance is strongly advised.

This is a free self-guided small museum. Pre-booking is recommended because the venue cannot accommodate many people at one time.

It is an interesting museum about the birth and growth of Ho Yan Hor as a herbal tea brand. Most of the exhibits and explanations are via posters. It would be more interesting if the operator had displayed more of actual items used in those years, or if there were explanations on some of the exhibits.

At the end of the visit, there is tasting of the various herbal teas.

The staffs are friendly.

Visitors can learn about the history of Ho Yan Hor from the informative descriptions found all over the museum. The exhibits are a plus and makes the whole visit much more interesting. Museum staff was friendly. I particularly liked the free sampling of different types of drink at the end of our visit.

The Ipoh HoYanHor Musume is one of my very enjoyable spots in Ipoh. The blue building has an old-fashioned flavour. The museum docent was also very good at explaining things and she could speak English, Chinese and Cantonese. It was also very encouraging to learn the story of the founder. And you can get herbal tea and a bunch of freebies for $20 after the tour! Well worth a visit.
