This place tells an inspiring story on the founder of HYH. There was no tour guide to explain or accompany us through out the tour though. Visitors are free to browse the photos and captions at own pace. We learnt about the herbal tea making process and marketing in the olden days. Definitely worth a visit.

There is no guided tour here but they do limit a number of people allowed to enter at a time. Simply knock on the door & someone will book you in for the next available slot. The tour is relatively short, it took us about 20 mins. There are interesting historical display items & pictures are allowed in the museum.... More

Came across this informative and nicely laid out museum on herbal tea in Old Ipoh town. The shop house is air-conditioned and is staffed by warm and inviting Ho Yan Hor personnel. The heart warming history of the herbal tea founder and subsequent business expansion to its current size today is a testament to good motives and hard work does... More

Spend a half hour here for a nice history lesson about Ho Yan Hor. There is a very well-maintained Hakka kitchen at the back, which has been faithfully recreated with all the necessary utensils and food tins. Really enjoyed going up and down the creaky 100-year old staircases!!

Good information on the history of Hor Yan Hor. The staff/ volunteers were very helpful and we were treated to samples of the freshly brewed tea which we enjoyed very much. Thank you 😀

A small, interesting museum that covers the rise of one man's tea empire. Obviously it's a very direct/narrowly focused view of an aspect of Ipoh history, but this is what makes it good. You get to learn the experiences of one man/company.
