We highly recommend spending an informative and fun few hours learning to cook Nyonya style with Pearly. We started at the market with a guided tour by Pearly who introduced us to a wide range of local produce and shared their many health benefits. We snacked at the market and had a coffee before heading back to Pearly and Chandra's... More

Yes...he was in his element, from declaring he can't cook to cooking a handsome meal. It was indeed fun to watch and observe him glow. We totally had fun with all of you. Till we meet again, thank you. More

this was a most interesting and informative experience, from a guided tour of the market, to the tips on what benefits each vegetable could provide. Then the cooking was well instructed and supervised in a friendly way only to stop you making any mistakes. All done with humour. The ingredients were all top quality. Pearly is keen to impart as... We were picked up from our hotel and taken to a market where we met the 4 other members of our group and then Pearly explained what various fruit and vegetables are and how much we should eat of what. Sadly a lot of the vegetables and roots are not available in rural France ! Back to the house, a... More

Thanks for the review and it was good to see you and Mike again. Thank you for the kindness and patience. Indeed street food takes alot of work, doing various preps until the very end and putting onto the plate or bowl is quite fun. True it isn't easy when guest forgot to inform their dietary intolerances. Sometimes magical moments... More

If you have an interest in and passion for Asian food you should spend a day with Pearly. She and husband Chandra are warm, friendly people who love their food and are happy to share their knowledge. From our visit to the wet market, tour of their garden, to the workbench where we sliced, diced and cooked and ate glorious... More

Being a lover of asian food, I was keen to learn how to cook some of my favourites. Pearly's school was a great option and I came away with some great knowledge. Starting with a wet market tour we learnt a lot about the benefits of certain asian fruits and vegetables, and some tasty testing along the way. Once we... More

What a lovely morning. Pearly's husband Chandra picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the wet market. Along the way he was kind enough to share with us some info about Penang, including its colonial history and even the types of trees that were growing alongside the road. We met Pearly at the market and embarked upon... More

Pearly and Chandra were the most warm and welcoming hosts. The morning started with market visits, food tasting and a drive through the city. We cooked up a storm in the wonderful and very clean facilities at Pearly's residence, with lots of hard work and laughing the entire time. A very intimate setting for us all to learn in and... We joined Pearly's cooking class today and really enjoyed it. I'm not a great cook, but the recipes we made we really easy to follow and absolutely delicious!
