Educate yourself on some of the early revolutionary press, as well as taking in the sense of history that infuses this place. Enjoy a refreshing tea in a great example of an early Malaysian kitchen. Hosts were very friendly. Make sure to get a photo taken in the "Wilson Hat" mirror.

This museum focuses on the activities and relationships formed by the Chinese revolutionary and founder of modern China, Dr. Sun Yat Sen during his time in Penang like him sending his two daughters to a local Penang school and how he formed a reading society to avoid the attention of the authorities. Do not worry if you are unsure about... More

This museum is incredible. It's an old house in Georgetown, Penang, with so much to offer. Culture, history and hospitality. the care takers are the nicest people on earth. The place is cooling, the kind of shade we need from the Malaysian sun. Upon your visit, you get free complimentary drinks (Chinese tea, pandan water or lime sour plum). They... More

Sun Yat Sen lived/worked here while fomenting revolution in China so it's an important place in one of China's 20th century transitions. What I really really liked was seeing the first floor of a terrifically intact "shop house," a building type found from Singapore to at least Penang. I believe it is supposed to be from the late 19th c.... More

Be careful not to walk right past it! Sun Yat Sen was an important figure in modern Chinese history and the building houses many artefacts from his stay in Penang. It's definitely worth a visit for everyone interested in Chinese history.

Interesting house that showcases the personal history of Sun Yat Sen who made indisputable contribution to Chinese history. There are a lot of personal artifacts and writings. When we visit, there was a tour guide who was showing tourists around and explaining the life and political journey of Sun Yat Sen. He really made a difference, I'm not sure we... More

Location: good Fee: reasonable Place: it was too small with less information in English because the guy who sells tickets can speak English/Thai/Chinese etc. but he got no time to tell us but he tried pretty hard to be a good host, Sun Yat Sen Memorial in Taipei, Taiwan was a lot better than here in George Town, Penang

You may miss this building if you don't pay attention when you walk along Armenian Street. It is indeed one of the many traditional houses (others are restaurants, shops) along the street. But this building holds significant position in Chinese history (although it is outside China). If you are history lover, it is a must visit in Penang. The inner... More

Dr. Sun Yat Sen's history has always been intriguing and fascinating back in my secondary school days. I remembered I read an article about how he overthrew the Qing dynasty with a group people helping him as well. And to know that he actually stopped by in Penang while in the midst of planning the revolution, it even made me... More
