Last time I still remember this place was gloomy and became very quiet due to all the shops being closed and need to fight with other modern malls. But on my last visit which is last Saturday (5/12/2016), I am quite shocked and amazef of the new looks of this mall. There are many new attractions that should be visited... More

Komtar has become a new place and center of attraction. Friendlier and cleaner place from my first visit to this place.

No matter what they do to Komtar it just never takes off. Always half empty it's just not a great place to shop. The surrounding shopping centres are where people go.

Komtar now has plenty shops to look for. But, the only stationary outlet might be only one. Easy to get ATM but poor wifi reception.

I had been there just for KFC. It's the only KFC fast food chain in Georgetown. There are a couple of shops selling computers, mobile phones and cameras. It's just nothing there.

Well, I go back a long way with Penang and I can remember the fanfare and hype that accompanied its' grand opening some thirty years ago. A visit there was accompanied worries about how high it was memories of a 1974 movie came to mind, but up I went anyway, intrepid traveller that I am. Well, to say that I... More

Foreign workers, legal or not, throng this place on weekends and public holidays simply because it is a transport hub for the whole of the island. Can get cheap food and shoes if one bothers to explore nooks and corners.Same for haircuts by students going below RM10.On one side of Level 2 and 3 shops have been empty for years after... It used to be a good place to shop 20 years ago. But definitely not the case anymore now. The observatory deck might be the only thing left for tourists but wouldn't recommend that anyhow. The shops are mostly empty or with low-end local stuffs which have little to none buyers in normal days. As for shopping, Prangin Mall or... More
