Fill your leisure time here. You can have a picnic and jog in the park. Besides that, you can also take photos of you surrounded by the nature.

We were not sure what we would find when we went off to these gardens. But - happily - we were very pleasantly surprised. Well laid out, well kept, the plants and tress are well labelled. A very enjoyable stroll through a set of gardens with a lot of variety and different views to enjoy.
Only problem is that some of the plant house cannot be entered at the moment because of Covid.
One complaint - the Japanese garden needs a lot of work - it is quite scruffy/untidy.
But - we had a good visit and would put it on out agenda to go again when next in Penang.

Didn't know what to expect, based on mixed reviews (the most negative of which proved completely nonsensical). There is some real beauty to be found here, in a clear and easy and accessible way. Spending time with the monkeys eating the fruit from the trees was really lovely.

Well loved and frequented by the locals. Young and old come here to jog, walk, exercise and lots of elderly meet here regularly for their exercise and daily dose of catch up with one another. As for foreigners, nice if you like nature, enjoy a gentle jog around the park ( nothing challenging nor does it have an interesting path, unless you venture into trail 46 which is notorious for its semingly endless steps ), or have a fair knowledge of botanic facts. There is no guide in sight nor any good signboards with information/interesting facts of the trees and plants they have at the gardens. Not that I know of.
Plenty of open car park spaces, but are usually busy with locals heading there as early as 6am for exercise. Free entrance.

I took my kids for an early evening run around the gardens. The larger loop is 1.9km and the smaller is 0.9km, both of which have significant ascents and descents. Nice place to run. There is a LinkBike station nearby too.

The place is so beautiful. We can see many people relaxing their minds in their busy schedule in this park. Best place for stress relief.

Relaxed Botanical Garden (free entry) - best time to visit is the early morning before it gets too hot.

Brought our American friends here as they were interested in the flora and fauna of our island. Things never seem to change in this garden and it is so much nicer to see the Macaques (the small grey monkeys) have mellow down and are eating the wild flowers and seeds. Years ago tourists were feeding them and they were pretty aggressive.
