This place is not a museum, is a house with inspiring history, it has nice decorations that represent mystical, cultural, and economic concepts and includes a hotel and restaurant that are worth visiting.
Do not forget to tip the Tour guide!!!

Fantastic Heritage Experience

Fantastic experience in Cheong Fatt Tze! The guided tour was educational, fun and memorable. Special shout out to Rou Han who was friendly and helpful, Sally our tour guide who was passionate and courteous in delivering the unique story of Cheong Fatt Tze. I love how Sally has incorporated some “treasure hunt” activities and “guessing games” to throughout the trip. I’m so proud of the way she delivers the history and stories about the Mansion. In addition, the uncle at security booth was really dedicated and friendly , thank you uncle! Will definitely visit Cheong Fatt Tze again. Thank you team, Good Job for in conserving the heritage!

Great guide
Oct 2020
It was a pretty average mansion with an exceptional tour guide. I think with any other guide, it would have been pretty boring. I would give the mansion 3 stars and the guide 5 stars so I’ve averaged it out to an overall rating of 4 stars.

A lovely chance to step back in time and see how the other half lives...LOL! A beautiful place with an interesting history, we came away with a fresh appreciation of it and the work that went into restoring it.

Great guided tour

The blue mansion is quite hidden on a very small lane which has the same name as the mansion's, but the indigo color & its mystique vibe catch the attention. They provide the guided tour which turns out to be very insightful & interesting. Highly recommend joining the tour. Sally - the tour guide - is a knowledgable lady that can tell you many stories about the mansion and the life of people used to live there.

First of all we didn’t sleep there as we do have our own accommodation on the island but I always enjoyed to go there and to have a drink at their bar calls Indigo
It is relaxing, pleasant and comfortable.
Prices are reasonable. Staff is professional, polite and discreet.
The Blue Mansion is the perfect place for the pleasure of all our senses as well for all details all around.
It includes also a tribute to a scene of the famous movie « Crazy Rich Asians » which is one of my fav’ in its catégorie.
Definitely a must experience place and recommend it!

Informative and delightful
The mansion itself is quite an architecture marvel which I am glad was successfully preserved by the architect who bought the site when the mansion went to market. I see comments comparing this to the Peranakan museum, however I personally don’t think it’s a fair comparison cause the Blue Mansion is not a Peranakan house.

Clement was delightful as our tour guide and has a true passion for heritage, sprinkling the tour with some humour about Chinese culture observed throughout the mansion. Yes, large parts of the mansion is off limits to tour, but the most important (and majestic) part of it is covered in the tour.

The mansion relies on proceeds from tour and hotel operations to sustain operations and maintenance cost, thus RM25 is not expensive as one would be contributing to the conservation of heritage in Malaysia.
