In daytime there isn't much to see, the restaurants and small shops stand quite empty. As this recently manmade tourist attraction still exists it must come to life after dark, when I haven't visited it. The location is some five blocks from Chinatown, there is a bus stop in front.

Bustling place at night, visited by locals and tourist. Traffic is severe. Many local restaurants and gift shops around. There's a certain block filled with bubble tea shops, it's quite popular. Nothing much to do here, except you like wandering around at night.

For an old part of Asia, sreets are wide. Buildings are quaint and reminds of Parisian boulevard. But ambiance and foot crowd missing.

There must be something like 15 place to eat in this area, offering all types of cuisine. There are also a number of hotels in the area and if you are intent on exploring George Town this would not be a bad base. You can walk into the Heritage area, or catch one of the buses, which are ridiculously cheap by UK standards, or possibly most other places. I stayed here for nearly three weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. The usual question each evening was where shall we eat to night? The are is also going to be enlarged by the Chimes complex which should be open soon and if you can't stomach Malaysian coffee, there is a Starbucks nearby.

Nagore Square is about a one block area of small cool hip shops, mainly bars, restaurants no retail. There are quite a few places to many to name here. If your looking for a nice chill spot away from busy Chulia St. make your way here you won’t be disappointed. For more in-depth video reviews check us out on Youtube at: Tenaj and Tino

Great place for breakfast as they are opened by 8am. This is also where the locals go for breakfast . Recommend - Hokkein mee (prawn noodles)., Fried Kway Teow, Lor mee and lo bak. The wait for Hokkein mee can be up to 30 min so do order early. Price of most noodles are below RM5 per bowl - except where "special" is ordered .

A lovely group of restored shops for a stroll a little way away from the main tourist area. Plenty of cafes and the best hairdresser I have ever been to - Chime Seven Hair Studio (7 Jalan Bawasah). I talked to Kelly and had my roots and also highlights done which was a big job. It was a friendly vibey place and they couldn't have been more patient or done a better job for a very reasonable price. They had cute rubber animal ears that covered my ears during the process and a clear visor to protect my face. Fun! As well as girls, lots of guys were coming in too and getting great haircuts. Highly recommend. Nearby there is also the New World Food Court which seems fairly new and very good. Shops attached included The Corgi Cafe which as you might suspect has corgi dogs, also a racoon and huskies upstairs. Their smoothies and milkshakes were delicious and they seemed to treat the animals very well. Well worth a visit to this area,

If you ever thought of where to find great places for night-outing,this is where you could find the best sides of Georgetown. Nagore street is just 15 mins walk from any part of Georgetown and you'll not miss the many colorful neon lights-up Nagore Square...it will remind you of Bugis Street or Fullerton Bay of Singapore....pubs,bars and cafes here are very artistic and full of life.....and if you're wondering looking for late supper is just right at the corner street you'll find some coffee shops serving the famous Penang 'mee rebus' and Hokkien Mee etc....enjoy....
