worth a visit for its garden and architecture
putrajaya is a garden city
an ideal place to relax and enjoy the scenery and nature
all building here has its own unique architecture
accessability from Kuala Lumpur :
easiest and cheapest way is via ERL
1) board ERL train from Sentral KL station to Putrajaya station (fee is RM10 one way)
2)then, just take the public bus there..will cost you RM0.50 cents to anywhere in Putrajaya ..you can enjoy the scenery of the city)..suggested to take bus to precint 1- prime ministers complex ) alight at dataran wawasan and take a tour there (souq al-bazaar, putra mosque, and garden)
then, walk to the long straight road from the putra mosque roundabout...this will bring you to precint 2,3&4 where all the beautiful biildings and bridges situated..
( you may want to take taxi/cab from ERL station to save the time.. this is slightly expensive option than public bus..however..the fee is quite OK ranging from RM15 )
there are few other attractions situated outside this precint...namely bOtanical garden, putrajaya wetland, taman warisan... easily reachable by bus..but make sure you ask the bus driver first whether the bus is going to the places you want to go or not
last but not least..there are tourist information counter at the dataran wawasan compound.. should you need any information/assistance

Putrajaya – worth a visit
What a magnificent view from Putrajaya Bridge of the garden city built in recent years to house government departments . This is a beautifully planned area and definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Kuala Lumpur. Easy to reach by train (17 minutes) from KL Sentral station, fare 9 ringit 50. Although there are plenty of buses and taxis my advice is to go on a Saturday and Sunday because the govt runs a city tour in air conditioned buses. Leaving at 11.00am and 2.30pm it is a guided tour lasting two and a half hours ... and the price? Only 1 ringit ...... unbelievable. In all my worldwide travels I have become used to being ripped off by city tours but I still can’t get over this fantastic good value. The guide was very informative and it’s perhaps worthwhile just to visit Putrajaya for this value-for-money tour! From the interestingly designed bridge the view of the man-made lake on which boat trips are available is really stunning . The sight of the two major mosques, one in Persian style and the other made from stainless steel imported from Germany is unforgettable.
On our trip we were fortunate to visit a festival of flowers which was happening at that time.

Putralaya was built to be the new capital of Malaysia, like Brasilia or even Washington (to which the nationals like to compare Putrajaya, altough I cannot see why, but...). All is new and built in a large scale in this place, located some 60 km outside KL, according to what the guide told me.
One can find here a large and beautiful human made lake, and the largest mosque in Malaysia (also the guide said!). If not the largest, for sure one of the most spectacular.
Putrajaya deserves a visit and is a good example of the power and the strenght of this asiatic economy.

The bridge stands out from the peaceful putrajaya lake. It is one of the iconic landmark of Putrajaya. The view across the lake is very beautiful and can see from miles around. The shape and structure of the bridge is excellent. It looks prominent from the banks of the lake. Standing on the bridge, you can have beautiful photos with the background of peaceful lake.

It's a beautiful bridge in Putrajaya and worth a visit especially at nighttime. I recommend taking a photo walk around putrajaya if you get a chance. At nighttime you can park near/on the bridge and take photos. Also try to take a walk towards the PM office for a different view of the bridge.

This bridge is best seen from Cyberjaya, if you like beautiful night shots (photos) this is a place to put on your list. It is a bit hard to get there if you don't have your own car. There are however Homestays that you can stay at but be warned it is an expensive area.

Visited in Dec, 2009. After arriving in KL our tour operator took us for Putrajaya tour and showed us various important buildings, mosques and the bridge. All of them were nice. Such a visit is recommended to get a feel of modern Malaysia.

Hi, How did you manage to ask the cab for a 2 hour taxi tour only? Are all taxis have such tour or it was you who ask the driver to do that? any tips about language barrier? I am planning to visit Putrajaya in July. Your response would be a great help :)
Thanks
