The Kinabatangan river is a beautifull river that you can visit to see a lot of wilflife. I was staying in the Bilit Rainforest Lodge, that is can recommand! Don't forget to hire or bring binoculars and camera with you.

I am not 100% sure as it will depend on individual tours but travel between the two is expensive according to one of thw guides we met so I would imagine most tours either do Malaysia or Indonesia.
