Very disappointing place with almost no bluming orchids and the place being worn out. You will be charged 40 RM pr. person for a small walk with nothing of interest other than your partner.

In my second visit to Orkid de Ville it was clear how this superb collection is part of the natural surroundings. Our host was very apologetic that the recent months of drought have affected his once-stunning gardens. It will be a different story once the rains come. I think it is currently only open with prior booking? This is not... More

Very informative guide and a brilliant collection of native species. Can spend at least 2 hours plus walking through the gardens. If you are really interested in orchids it is worth the entrance fee. If you expect showy bright hybrid blooms then perhaps not the place for you. Have the taxi quote you for return as there is no transport... More

Lots of rare Borneon orchids and others. We were taken on a tour of this place, and it felt like we were in the jungle. Very rustic and unspoilt. Bring insect repellant! Wear proper shoes. Unfortunately most of the orchids had no blooms.

The 'car park' and 'entrance' were in such a run down state that we doubted it was actually open and the man behind the ticket desk looked as if he'd just got out of bed, wearing a vest & smelling of alcohol, so when he asked us for 80 MYR each we assumed he'd made a mistake. (It really didn't... More

So much to look at! Lucky to see many beautiful varieties of orchids and other plants, as we had been told that not much was flowering at the time, but risked the visit anyway. Well informed curator, well set out displays and a thoroughly beautiful garden. The colours were amazing and i was impressed at the sizes of some of the... More

This site is amazing. The curator knows his stuff and was able to identify those species we couldn't . Need some insect repellent but does not detract from the delights of the site

Sure, we were on a specifically orchids-focussed tour - 11 days in Sabah - and well appreciated what we saw, learned and photographed. Our group of 4 stayed 2-3 hours as we and Mr Wang tapped into our mutual enthusiasm despite Kiwi-Pom- Sabahan accent challenges - hooray for basic latin! The place is a treasure. The diversity of species was... More

The trip is a little bit pricey with entrance fee and guided tour RM 80/person, round trip taxi about RM 120. The whole trip took about 3 hours and if had a plan to go there, leave early in the morning when it's not too humid. This is a wonderful garden with some of the rarest orchids in Borneo. The...
