We went for the Kiulu river (Grade I-II) white water rafting, had a really good experience even though all of us were first time rafters. The guide Jeff and Lilo were very friendly and professional, the ride itself was quite relaxed for the most part as we ride with the river flow while rafting through a few rapids.

Lunch was included in the package, and it was cooked fresh at the beautiful Riverbug base camp at the end of the river. It was simple but delicious, and vegetarian options were available as well. Shower facilities available at the base camp.

Upon request, they have van transfer service available to and fro your place of stay and the rafting location (subjected to availability). You can drive yourself there as well, but the road condition is similar if not worse than the road to Kundasang.

Besides rafting, other activities such as camping, small flying fox across the river and back, etc are also available at the base camp, though we did not participate in them.

We did the Rapids 1 and 2 and then went to the Mari Mari.
We had Eddy for the rapids and he was excellent - everything was great from the relaxed nature to the lunch. Riverbug was very caring with us and I would highly recommend

The abseiling was done at a great location, beautiful waterfall and surrounds. Our guides JayZ and Dodie were both knowledgeable and friendly. Overall we had a fantastic time!

There is a meal served. Everything is fried in palm oil so enjoy your clogged arteries. They say that they have vegetarian options, but they do not. The village tour was interesting, so we were happy. Not very far from town, so the trip was not punishing like the poring springs.

Dear GREGORY N, All reviews and feedback are important to us here at Riverbug as we are constantly seeking to improve our products and services, aspiring to exceed expectations! Thank you so much for the kind and motivating word towards the tour you have participated in. Although, we are quite disheartened at the fact you were dissatisfied with the lunch and meals provided for your vegetarian option. As such, we will take suggestion into consideration. In the future, we will strictly ask our guests for their dietary restrictions in a more elaborated manner to further prevent this conundrum from happening again. Thanks again for taking the time to give us your honest review! Hope you enjoy the rest of your travels! Sincerely, Riverbug Asia team

A fun day out on the water. Riverbug were very professional. Communication transfers and safety talk were all good. Staff were friendly. Lunch was fine. Good changing facilities. This is a great Level 1-2 white water rafting experience and ideal for families or beginners, as it is not too hair-raising. There are a lot of stops to get out and have some fun in the water which is fairly shallow. We all had lots of laughs.

We booked the Kuili white water rafting with RiverBug at the last moment for 29/12. Excellent organisation and management. Our raft captain DiDi was a great conversationalist and companion. So did Apao our transport lead. The lunch at the end of the course was decent at zip line Borneo site. So was the price of the excellent photos taken. Price @RM190 per pax was on the higher side as compared to other operators based on quotes received but did not mind it was it was last minute booking. Overall a 5 star of organisation and experience.

Thumb up for Riverbug Perak at Kampar River.

We have done the White Water Rafting at the Kampar River .

It was a great and wonderful experience with the helpful and responsive staffs.

We opt for the afternoon session that day. Unfortunately, when we reached the river , it was raining cats and dogs. So we can’t do on that Day. We were given the lunch since we have arrived. The lunch was sumptuous and good. The lunch area is just next to the river . So it is very interesting.

The staff offer us to do the Rafting the next morning. They were so kind to offer to pick us up from our hotel . This is really much more than our expectation . The staffs were all friendly and they make us feel at home.

Our guide picks us up from the hotel and get us ready to put on the gear .

We have a briefing how to use the equipment and the safety measure . We have even a test run by our guide before we did the actual rafting. It was necessary for first timer and we have enjoyed the session.

We would like to give credits to our guide , JAYZ who is very experienced. Jayz knows how much we can do and always encouraging. He always look out for us for any sudden changes of water and make sure we were safe. He always tried to make the journey enjoyable and fun . He is full of smile and positiveness. We witness 2 boats capsized and our boat is safe ( though we thought capsize the boat is fun ) . We became the recuse boat to recuse the people in the water and it was very fun.

JAYZ not only a guide but also he tried to make Friend with us by sharing his experiences.

Indeed , it was a good journey and experience.

DOUBLE THUMB UP FOR JAYZ with Riverbug Perak .

We did the half day mari mari cultural tour and it was brilliant. Our guide was great and it was very insightful to see how the indigenous tribes lived.

By showing the different cultural identities within Sabah, this place enhances the visit to Sabah. Without visiting the Mari Mari Cultural Village I think that you have missed out on seeing the remnants of the 'old ways' of Borneo which has a wide variety of peoples living there - all with their own identities and customs.
