The North Borneo Railway runs two weekly return departures (Wednesday, Saturday) from Kota Kinabalu to Papar, year round. Lasting approximately 4 hours, passengers experience the lush landscape of the coastal and rural regions of Sabah. A typical 'tiffin' colonial lunch will be served on the return trip.

This trip isn't cheap but in my opinion well worth it. The attention to detail and staff was excellent. The carriage was well restored and loved the staff uniforms, passport stamps, cold towels to keep cool at each stop. Loads of food and drinks provided....More

I finally make it to the ride! Amazing experience and I enjoyed every moment from pick up to drop off. Will be lovely if there is special price for Malaysian.

Food was nice always have troubles with engines. it may take 1 to 2 hours until repaired. racially segregated by coach.
