Had a wonderful ride with Mr Christian and his colleague today. Ventured into the villages at Tuaran area and it is a good experience. Mr Christian is so friendly. Also very generous about information about Sabah and his life experiences 😁 Do support him.

Our family of 4 enjoyed a fantastic day with Bike Borneo on a cycling/ rafting trip. We spent the morning cycling with Christian along quiet lanes/ off route tracks in an area North of Kota Kinabalu, with the most fantastic views of Mount Kinabalu in the distance. Christian was an excellent guide, giving us the option of extension routes, stopping in a local village to try out local fruits and crossing over some suspension bridges en route. We enjoyed talking to him and finding out more about Sabah. We were met at points by a support driver who gave us cold, refreshing drinks. We cycled for about 3 hours.
We were then picked up and taken to a separate rafting zone about 30 minutes away and enjoyed a good lunch there. It was gentle rafting as the river wasn't very high - perhaps not exciting enough for the teans but thoroughly enjoyed by myself! Again in the most beautiful of settings. We had the chance on a couple of occasions to jump in the water and swim to cool off. Our guide was excellent.
The trip included transfers from Kota Kinabalu and back again. Thoroughly recommended!

Fantastic biking experience in the foothills of Kinabalu Park. Our route was extended slightly at 25km overall. Our guide Christian had great knowledge of the local area and really brought the culture to life with stories of his family, and his grandfather in particular.
Booking and pick up/drop off was really easy. You travel to the location where the bikes are stored. The route was a good mix of terrain and mostly off road/quiet lanes. Sone fun too walking over suspension bridges! There is a support vehicle that meets at rest stops with cold drinks.
Lunch is provided in a restaurant which is part of an impressive temple complex.
Overall this is a really well run tour. Lots of thought has gone into it and it shows. If you travel to Kota Kinabalu and like biking this tour is a must do! 5 stars, 100%
Thank you Christian and Flo!

This was a pretty good biking trip in the back lands of Kota Kinabalu. Pretty good ATB bikes and the trip was very nice with lots of back road and dirt road biking.
The guide was great and learned us a lot about Saba and let us taste nice fruits and bakery items at a local roadside shop. Jackfruit and Marang fruits were very tasteful.
Can recommand anybody to sign up for this tour. Really one of the better cycling tours I have experienced!

Fantastic day cycling with Christian taking me thru quiet back roads, gravel paths, up one or two muddy inclines ... Christian would ask what terrain I would like and choose a course accordingly
Tailor-made!
Completely brilliant, many highlights, rubber trees, mango trees, water buffalo, local life, excellent lunch stop near Chinese temple, suspension bridge, crocodile infested river (didn't see any, but I knew they were watching me!) Christian was kind enough not to push me in "for a laugh"
and Flo was the support driver, supplying water stops and took my rucksack (was apprehensive of cycling with rucksack on my back in the Malaysian climate) Flo would drive on ahead on several occasions and take photos/videos of us approaching ... Just received 80 photos/vids in my WhatsApp.
Apart from which, Christian is great company throughout, car journey, cycling and lunch. Never a dull moment.
Think that's all.
If you don't book up, more fool you 😄
Thanks again Christian and Flo

On a whim we booked this bike trip as we love cycling -Christian made it so easy and understood our capabilities- he picked us up promptly from our hotel. We rode in beautiful countryside with our fantastic guide Alex and Will his tail gunner -we felt so safe and had such a lovely day with them. We had lunch at a Chinese pagoda which was lush ! We saw wonderful villages and countryside that you can only see on a bike -a very memorable ride .Thank you Bike Borneo :)

Totally amazing day . We did the Tauran day bike ride . It was mainly off road through back lanes and oaths so we felt like we are seeing another side of Borneo off the beaten track . Our guide Dan , totally accommodated our needs and skills and made sure we felt safe and able to go at our pace . It was great riding over the hanging bridges , seeing the rubber plantations and factory and a wonderful lunch at the Chinese Pagoda with Mountain View’s.
Having a a support vechile was excellent and we were supplied with isotonic drinks and water
Dan helped us with transport the next day that we needed and gave us lots of advice
BB WERE SUPERB . We had had to cancel a ride initially because my daughter was ill and they were so helpful .

We have had a fantastic day trip with Christian - from first contact over email it was very easy to organise our day bike riding and rafting.
The whole tour was very well organised, bikes were in excellent condition, all drinks and lunch provided (and delicious!) Hotel pick up and drop off. The rafting was really enjoyable. Christian tailors the tour to ability and activity levels which we appreciated. Really lovely to get out in the countryside.
Highly recommend a trip with Christian - he organises various multi day tours too which sound good if interested in something tailored to suit you or a group.
Thanks Christian and Flo.

As an avid mountain biker, I wanted to have an off-the-track experience around Kota Kinabalu, which was accessible to the whole family. I was not disappointed. The service was impeccable (spot on time for the hotel pick-up, excellent gear, kids-friendly 24" bikes, a support vehicle, fresh drinks, ...). Christian and Flo were very friendly and provided insightful information about the local life and culture. We wandered through rural Tuaran dirt tracks, visited the rubber tree fields and spotted a monitor lizard along the river. The whole family loved it and we sure had a memorable time despite the heat. Highly recommended! 😀

My wife and I joined Christian (and Flo) on a 3 day / 2 nights MTB experience on Borneo and what a fantastic ride. Beautiful surrounding, stunning views and Christian and the always nearby support vehicle made sure that the speed was right, cold drinks were available and information about everything we passed were given. It was an extraordinary experience and Bike Borneo and Christian has our very very best recommendations for anyone, who want to experience the amazing nature on Nothern Borneo / Sabah

Hello there,
We are family of three and all of us are not familiar with mountain biking.
Would this be okay? Especially for 10 y.o girl?
We are visiting KK over New Years.

What Chris said. The ride is non-technical and any parts you're unsure of or that are a bit steep can be walked. Would be a great family outing.

Hi, is the Kiulu Valley Ride and Raft tour suitable for beginners? Are there steep hills?
Christian J
Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
Hi Lisa,
Greetings from Bike Borneo!
Yes, the Kiulu Valley Ride and Raft tour is suitable for beginners and at the same time, it can adjust according to your ability ( For mountain biking).
Our mountain bike guides are all well trained and equip with basic first aid kit and attend emergency first aid training from time to time. There will also be a support vehicle team, should problem occure, and cold drinks are available along the ride with our support vehicle.
There are a few steep hills but not that hard. We would not push our client to their limit during the ride. Plenty of stops under the shades with amazing stories to share about is the best part of learning the culture and history here in Sabah.
The raft is also suitable for those who never experience white water rafting before, hence there is a raft guide who will monitor everyone during the activity. Lunch is superb, providing all the energy you needed for the whole day adventure!
If you need more details, please email us , and we will reply to you as soon as possible :)
Hope the above helps.
Cheers.

Hi,
I'm reading your reviews with interest, but I'm wondering if there's anything in the area for more experienced riders? Perhaps some nice technical descents or steep singletrack. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,
All of our rides are technical, we do have a single track due to the silk and gravel road are shared between the villagers and the townspeople. Our most famous tour which is Tuaran Day Ride it consist of uphill and downhill road, which we can tweak to make it much more challenging. if you'd like to try it out, you can go to our website click on tuaran day ride :D.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,

Hi Lynn - I'm in that demographic & had no problem. So parts required a good level of fitness but nothing seriously challenging & our guide was terrific with the slower people in our group.
