Had a great 2 day trip with Borneo Biking Adventures. Spent time with like minded people under the guidance of Bryan who is not only an expert rider but also very knowledgeable in the area we travelled in. I highly recommend the trip, everything is catered for so all you have to do is concentrate on the ride, the countryside and having a great time.

Thanks Bryan!

What a great way to see Sabah! Bryan provides ALL the gear, pick up and return to hotels, knowledge, advice and access to places many never get to see.

The bikes (Aprilia Pegaso 650s) were perfect for the routes and two up was no problem. Bryan provided a top box for us but hardly needed it as you don't need to carry anything with the support ute taking luggage.

Some heart stopping moments, so bikers beware and listen carefully to Bryan's clear advice re hazards.

Some wonderful roads, plenty of climbing twisties, bitumen all the way bar one 2 or 3 km shortcut on return from the tip. Helmet cam was a great bonus when we downloaded the images afterwards along with heaps of happy snaps along the way at various viewpoints and cafes

The Tip of Borneo and the stay over was a real achievement for us.

Good on you Bryan, fantastic memories.

Having met Bryan several years ago when he was a guest of the Vintage Motocross club of Western Australia's 15th Anniversary MX meeting, I learnt of his tour business back in Borneo and thought that it might be something to put on the "bucket list". A couple of my riding buddies, after learning of his venture experienced his warm hospitality whilst indulging in one of his tours and returned full of praise and good words about their experience. As I was going on holidays with my wife I needed to organise an itinerary that would enable both of us to achieve all things that we wanted to do whilst in Sabah. Bryan managed to organise a total package where my wife was able to see the Orang-utans, Sabah Tea Factory and plantation, and get really close to Mt. Kinabalu via the exciting roads and picturesque scenery of beautiful Sabah. We both thoroughly enjoyed the adventure and would go back in a heartbeat. Nick and Linda.

You guys were a blast. I don't think I've eaten in so many different locations, its great to have customers that are open to trying different eateries. It sounds like you enjoyed your adventure. Thanks for your kind words.

I have been to BBA 3 times in the last 6 years (so that must tell you something). having never ridden off road, the first few days where spent riding the superb roads, they really are a bikers heaven, but make sure you take plenty of breaks, as the scenery is also magnificent. But once you get off road everything changes, you may not get to Brian’s level of expertise (he was 5 times British Motocross Champion), but he will give you as much of his knowledge as you can take in. The third time I went to BBA I was doing the road bits as quick as I could to get to the dirt and gravel and out into the rain forest. You need to get there. I am again in October 2013. I have done all my stays at Sinurambi, but see the website there are other options.

Delighted to hear your planning to come back to see us. I do hope you've been practicing your off road skills, then we can try something a bit more challenging.. Thanks for your comments, keep safe and well.

I lived in Brunei for a few years and therefore had the pleasure to go out with Borneo Bikers on several occasions. I think the most surprising thing is the quality of the riding. Don't be put off thinking it'll be boring old jungle roads or that maybe everybody will ride too fast for you. Each rider gets to ride at his or her own pace with clear instructions on how far to go before stopping and waiting for the rest. Bryan rides at the back, making sure everybody makes it.

Bryan has been working in Borneo and doing this for many years now and knows the area and roads like the back of his hand. A five times British Motocross champion he’s also a brilliant rider and is full of tips for those that want to learn, both on and off-road.

The bikes may seem pretty mundane to sports bike riders but believe me you won't want anything quicker. They are set up perfectly for the road conditions and will keep a smile on your face all day long. You'll have more fantastic corners in one day than in a typical year elsewhere in the world. Being centred around Mount Kinabalu, the roads are very Alpines-like, with lots of long downhill and uphill sweeping curves that just go on and on. Your riding technique will improve no end.

The off-road riding is pretty much all gravel and not too slippery unless it's been raining. Here you get right into the jungle and ride through small villages of very friendly folk. The people of Sabah are all so happy to see you and come to talk whenever you stop. When you do stop it's usually to eat or have a quick drink at one of the small cafes you'll come across on your daily tour. Food was always surprisingly good, and all included.

What I really like about this place is just turning up and not having to plan a thing. The perfect holiday. Just tell Bryan what you fancy doing and leave the rest to him. The next morning the bikes are all cleaned, serviced and ready to roll. Everyday a different ride and some beautiful scenery too. It can rain and when it does its pretty heavy. For me I never even bothered with wets, because it's not a cold rain and as soon as it's stops you dry out almost instantly.

Last year I did the inaugural Boars Head tour, which was to circumnavigate Sabah over a period of about 9 days. As you would imagine a good bit of it was off-road and we experienced parts of Borneo most people would never get to. Some of the roads to be experienced defy belief, just read the website reviews. Definitely something for the bucket list.

Whatever your riding style and whatever your biking needs BBA will certainly cater and you definitely won't come away disappointed.

Hospitality is great too. You’re really made to feel like you’re at home and there’s always a good meal and some wine to finish up the day and talk about your exploits. The ride, the people, the countryside and the wildlife...of which there is plenty..

I'm living in Australia now and intend to go back in the not too distant future. I'm definitely hooked.

First class!

After spending a day mountain biking in the local villages of Sabah and seeing how quiet the back roads are, I decided to go out on a day ride with Bryan from Borneo Biking Adventures. He runs a small fleet (12) Aprilia 650cc Motocycles that are well maintained, and all the riding gear is provided. I had not ridden much since moving to Asia, but Bryan lets you set the pace once you discuss your trip and agree on the route. On my day trip, I rode some off-road and some beautiful long winding roads through the ranges behind Kota Kinabalu and managed to clock up 280 kms. I was surprised how good the roads are maintained, and how little traffic there is around, only the occasional dog or water buffalo poses a risk to the rider but I managed to avoid them. Bryan took me to see some awesome waterfalls, to a river teaming with fish that we fed, and some local villages for a quick snack and a drink. It is nice and cool in the mountains, so it is quite comfortable to ride for a longer period.
The good thing about this tour is that you can choose the things you want to see before hand. Because this was my first time to Sabah, I decided to let Bryan set my itinerary for the day and I was not disappointed. He is an ex British Motocross champion, so he is highly skilled rider that has lived in Borneo for over 10 years now so his recommendations are good.
So if you have a motorbike license and want to take a custom tour on an enduro bike around the beautiful Sabah region, then I would recommend contacting Bryan. I will definitely consider doing this again when I return and see other parts of East Malaysia. I ran out of time, but there was a few places to see the famous Rafflesia flower which is now on my bucket list.

I did a one-day ride with BBA in 2015 and loved it so much I vowed to return for one of their multi-day journeys so I came back (as a birthday present from my wife) in March 2017. There was one other rider and Bryan from BBA on the 3-day trip.
The ride was nothing less than outstanding. We headed south from KK then across the Crocker Range to Keningau, then headed North through the lane. We spent the night at Celyn Resort up on the mountain with just stunning views of Kinabalu. The next morning we went to the Kundasang War memorial and fruit market before heading to the Sabah Tea Factory for a short tour. Next we headed up an amazing new road to Kota Marudu. This road was a rider's dream - smooth and curvy with stellar scenery. We stayed at some awesome cabins right on the beach at the tip of borneo where we had a couple of kilometres of sandy beach to ourselves for a nice end-of-day swim and sunset before walking to an amazing local restaurant for dinner. The drive back to KK on the third day was, again, scenic and fun.
Lunches are delicious in local restaurants known by the Operator so no worries on you stomach if you are coming from away.
The bikes are perfect for the type of riding you will do and Bryan lets you set your own pace and remains flexible to what the riders want to do.
The support bike and Bryan are ready to handle any mechanical issues that may come up such as a broken clutch cable replacing a faulty spark plug so there is little time lost on the road in this eventuality.
BBA has all the riding gear you need so pack light but do bring a waterproof backpack for your personal things. It rained for an hour or so on two of the days. They have full body high quality Yamaha rain gear so you will stay dry but our backpacks were bungie corded on the bike so I was glad I had a dive bag keeping my extra cloths dry.
I have visited 40 countries in my travels and rented motorcycle in places like South Africa and Thailand and all that I can say is, in my opinion, there is little that can compare to Borneo Biking Adventures to anyone who loves motorcycles and the driving experience.
If you Youtube search Borneo Biking Adventures you will see a short video of our trip from a GoPro mounted on the handlebar

We decided to go on this tour with friends after my wife spotted an article in the Adventure Bike Rider magazine. I emailed Bryan with some "like to do's" he responded quickly to our requests, which enabled us to combine the tour with going to the MotoGP in Sepang.
Bryan has a good selection of air vented bike clothing and you do not require much personal clothing.
Robbie the mechanic followed us on tour with the support truck for our luggage and spare bike.
The bikes performed really well with a pillion, Lin said she had plenty of room and it was a comfortable ride. Bikes were perfect for all road conditions covered.
Bryan lets you lead at your own pace giving you good instructions where to stop next, and keeps a sensible distance behind you keeping an eye on things.
The mountain scenery is fantastic with plenty of drink and photo stops. At the fruit market we were shown and sampled many types of fruit.
Bryan is very knowledgeable about Borneo's culture past and present. He was always warmly welcomed at all the places we stopped at for refreshments. We ate with the locals eating local delicacies wherever possible, food was freshly cooked and delicious
The hotel and lodge accommodation was of a very high standard. It was lovely at the Proboscis Lodge, and the evening river cruise was fantastic seeing all the wildlife in there natural surroundings. Next morning we were amazed awakening to wild monkeys scuttling across our roof at sunrise.
At the Sabah Hotel after a hot days ride we thoroughly enjoyed the lovely swimming pool and some cool beers.
Bryan is a really friendly guy who's certainly led his life to the full, he can entertain you over dinner with his humorous stores and its down to his hard work and enthusiasm that gives you an adventure touring holiday of a lifetime.

Safe and happy riding,

Colin & Linda.

Hi,
Was in Borneo on a family holiday & contacted Bryan to see if I could arrange a 1 day ride out.
Bryan is mainly set up for groups, but was happy to oblige.
I dreaded getting knitted up in the heat & humidity, but the Alpine stars mesh jacket was fantastic.
The bike was an Aprilia Pegaso, which is a bit different from the sports bike that usually ride, so took little getting used to.
Bryan explained the route, but allowed me to lead, setting my own pace, while he sat back in the distance unobtrusively.
We followed a route up into the Crocker range, with twisting roads & great views, stopping for rest/water breaks in the heat.
During the stops we chatted comfortably, Bryan being knowledgeable on a range of topics, along with details & background of the region.
We also stopped by a waterfall for a scenic photo.
The afternoon saw us on more open & faster roads for a while, which left me struggling a bit as the bike would weave & wallow as I tried to ride it like a sportsbike.
At the next stop, Bryan gave me a couple of tips to help control this. Low & behold, my riding ( & safety 👍) were massively improved 😀.
All in all, I had a great day out.
Bryan is a great host & guide, whom I would recommend to everyone.
The only shame for me, was that it was just one day.
I would love to return, with a group of friends & take a week to explore the region with Bryan.
Thanks for the great day
Regards
Russell
