We have been talking about Sabah for years and finally contacted Bryan at BBA who planned an 8 day bike adventure which took in all the attractions and the best roads.
He lowered one of his bikes so my wife, 5ft 2 , could ride solo and she had a ball. He even organised dry weather for the 8 days, not bad for Borneo. Accommodation and meals wherever we went were first rate, especially the Roti,s. If you enjoy riding bikes in exotic places give Bryan a call you won't be disappointed.

At one point during this amazing trip I realized why we were going so fast. Bryan was trying to escape the stupid grin on my face....just couldn't get rid of it. I absolutely loved the trip, there were so many highlights and firsts. Riding through Sabah in itself was a treat, crossing the mountain range in heavy mist, seeing the rainforest and encroaching palm oil plantations, experiencing an interesting variety of road conditions....great tarmac to landslides to pot holes to bits where the road just disappeared for a while to the track up to Bryan's place in the hills was just a start. We stopped at WW2 memorials, a tea plantation, a rainforest discovery centre, a Sunbear rehabilitation centre...of course we went to see Orangutans and whilst staying at a lodge in the rainforest witnessed monkeys galore, crocs, monitor lizards and to top it all swimming Asiatic elephants.
The food was great...wherever we stopped was a treat whether you paid a few ringgits or a few more, from the simplest roti in a roadside shack to an accomplished meal in a hotel it was all great, always served with a smile whether we or they knew what was happening or even on one memorable occasion trying to work out what we were eating and not caring as it was delicious!!
The tour was tailored to me which was a privilege. It obviously took in a lot of places that Bryan knew from years of experience leading his tours but we also tried some new stuff that I was interested in. The Apillia Pegaso bikes were fun, good nick and easy to handle and with the following Robbie on hand with a spare bike there were no worries about any mechanical gremlins....which didn't in any event happen. We stayed in a variety of places overnight, from a simple wooden cabin at the tip of Borneo to a lodge in the rainforest to a really good quality hotel with a lush pool at the end of a long day....enjoyed them all. Bryan was good company but left enough personal time to help process all the new sights smells and experiences.
I've done a few motorbike adventures but this was the best...I saw and experienced so much in six days, not least actually learning a lot from following Bryan and seeing how he rode ( probably best not to bring some of those lessons to British roads ! )
Thanks Bryan, hope to come again some day, loved it.

My second visit Bryan filled our days with good roads, safe bikes and strange stories. He says he also arranged the break in the recent storms so we had great weather too.
Tours or day rides to suit your time schedule and abilities, Bryan will do his best to fit in everything you want to see or do.

My fiancé and I unfortunately only had a couple days to spend in Borneo so we looked to Borneo Biking Adventures instead of trying to plan day trips on our own. From the very beginning Bryan was quick to respond, very personable and answered any questions we had.
The riding experience was even better. All three days had different, but equally beautiful views and interesting roads to navigate. Bryan always let us know what to expect but really gave us control over speed, sight seeing, stops and food. He also refused to take any money for picking us up and taking us back to the airport.
The riding was fantastic and if you look at pictures of Borneo you will assume that but half of the fun came from talking to Bryan. He is a wildly interesting and easy going guy. He really made the entire experience go from good to an amazingly fun 3 days.

Unbelievable roads with Rainforests & Views to take your breath away. We decided to stay on the blacktop as I was two up with my daughter as pillion, although off road is also well catered for if required. Bryan supplied us with Aprillia 650 adventure bikes. These are very comfortable and ideally suited to the task. We travelled from Kota Kinabalu to the tip of Borneo and back over an 8 day period. Bryan ensured our days were filled with interesting and visually stunning destinations and took us along roads from tight back roads to sweeping smooth mountain roads through endless tropical rainforests. These roads are what motorcyclists dream of. Frequent breaks to enjoy the local foods meet the locals which were very friendly mostly understood English. Snorkelling at the Tip of Borneo is a 'must do' to see the coral reef with the many beautiful fish and stunning coral colours & types only a 10 minute boat trip from the beach. Bryan was always willing to accommodate our requirements with his flexible approach to itinerary even on the fly, sometimes required if the weather doesn't suit. We were lucky, awakening each morning to brilliant sunshine, and were only once caught coming off the Crocker Range in a downpour one afternoon. No problem. We were dry in no time as the temperature was in the 30's. Trust him when he says you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

I did a one-day ride with BBA in 2015 and loved it so much I vowed to return for one of their multi-day journeys so I came back (as a birthday present from my wife) in March 2017. There was one other rider and Bryan from BBA on the 3-day trip.
The ride was nothing less than outstanding. We headed south from KK then across the Crocker Range to Keningau, then headed North through the lane. We spent the night at Celyn Resort up on the mountain with just stunning views of Kinabalu. The next morning we went to the Kundasang War memorial and fruit market before heading to the Sabah Tea Factory for a short tour. Next we headed up an amazing new road to Kota Marudu. This road was a rider's dream - smooth and curvy with stellar scenery. We stayed at some awesome cabins right on the beach at the tip of borneo where we had a couple of kilometres of sandy beach to ourselves for a nice end-of-day swim and sunset before walking to an amazing local restaurant for dinner. The drive back to KK on the third day was, again, scenic and fun.
Lunches are delicious in local restaurants known by the Operator so no worries on you stomach if you are coming from away.
The bikes are perfect for the type of riding you will do and Bryan lets you set your own pace and remains flexible to what the riders want to do.
The support bike and Bryan are ready to handle any mechanical issues that may come up such as a broken clutch cable replacing a faulty spark plug so there is little time lost on the road in this eventuality.
BBA has all the riding gear you need so pack light but do bring a waterproof backpack for your personal things. It rained for an hour or so on two of the days. They have full body high quality Yamaha rain gear so you will stay dry but our backpacks were bungie corded on the bike so I was glad I had a dive bag keeping my extra cloths dry.
I have visited 40 countries in my travels and rented motorcycle in places like South Africa and Thailand and all that I can say is, in my opinion, there is little that can compare to Borneo Biking Adventures to anyone who loves motorcycles and the driving experience.
If you Youtube search Borneo Biking Adventures you will see a short video of our trip from a GoPro mounted on the handlebar

Hi myself and my partner did a 2 day trip to the tip of borneo just after Christmas. Bryan was great he was very easy and casual to deal with. He picked us up from our city center hotel in his hilux and brought us to his house. We spent about 40 minutes there talking and getting kitted out before we left. Bryan had a good amount of decent gear to choose from we brought our own boots and pants. I would recomend bringing your own if your small or an odd size. He has a mesh type fully armoured alpinestars jackets which are prrfect for the climate and has water proofs in the pannier boxes on the back of each box. He brought us down a mix of roads which ranged from new tarmac to ruffly concreted. He lead the way at the start then let me ride ahead at my own pace. He gave detailed info of the road ahead at each stop. About 3- 4 stops each day. Morning tea, lunch and petrol stops. If you're considering doing the trip and don't know what to expect just do it you won't be disappointed mind you i'd recomend this to experienced riders only. All in all a top clasd trip

We decided to go on this tour with friends after my wife spotted an article in the Adventure Bike Rider magazine. I emailed Bryan with some "like to do's" he responded quickly to our requests, which enabled us to combine the tour with going to the MotoGP in Sepang.
Bryan has a good selection of air vented bike clothing and you do not require much personal clothing.
Robbie the mechanic followed us on tour with the support truck for our luggage and spare bike.
The bikes performed really well with a pillion, Lin said she had plenty of room and it was a comfortable ride. Bikes were perfect for all road conditions covered.
Bryan lets you lead at your own pace giving you good instructions where to stop next, and keeps a sensible distance behind you keeping an eye on things.
The mountain scenery is fantastic with plenty of drink and photo stops. At the fruit market we were shown and sampled many types of fruit.
Bryan is very knowledgeable about Borneo's culture past and present. He was always warmly welcomed at all the places we stopped at for refreshments. We ate with the locals eating local delicacies wherever possible, food was freshly cooked and delicious
The hotel and lodge accommodation was of a very high standard. It was lovely at the Proboscis Lodge, and the evening river cruise was fantastic seeing all the wildlife in there natural surroundings. Next morning we were amazed awakening to wild monkeys scuttling across our roof at sunrise.
At the Sabah Hotel after a hot days ride we thoroughly enjoyed the lovely swimming pool and some cool beers.
Bryan is a really friendly guy who's certainly led his life to the full, he can entertain you over dinner with his humorous stores and its down to his hard work and enthusiasm that gives you an adventure touring holiday of a lifetime.
Safe and happy riding,
Colin & Linda.
