A well organized tour from Marvelous Borneo . We did a 2 day 1 night tour via ferrata climb to Gunung Kinabalu with tne company . We booked 2 months in advance prior to our clim up in March .
Communications with an unknown vendor in a different country can be a daunting prospect for many of us so we made sure that the company was certified , reputable , safe and reliable . Based on our experience with this company , it met all of these criterion and we had a very good experience with them .
Communications : very timely and almost instantaneous communications was available throughout the trip planning to trip ending . Reno did his best to accommodate our needs .
Transport : drivers and vehicles were of good condition and drivers were safe drivers to and from Gunung Kinabalu to Kota Kinabalu
Guides: the guides we had were very encouraging, non intrusive when we did not need them but was present when we needed them . As it was a relatively challenging climb, they knew when to step in to help us and step back .
Meet and greet: A representative was available to clear our paperwork and was very timely . It made the administrative procedures so much pleasant .
Pricing : competitive pricing as it is essentially the same trek up a well marked trail by various companies. The only difference is that there is a general feeling of safety and care .
Reputation: we chose this company as the via ferrata group uses and recommends them- so we follow their recommendations.
I will continue to use marvelous tours as we had a good experience with them .

Mr Reno was such a great help in coordinating this entire climb for my friends and I. He patiently answered all our questions and also gave us very useful suggestions with respect to our issues with transportations. Will definitely recommended Marvelous Borneo Tours to our family and friends and encourage them to climb Mt. Kinabalu too!

We booked the 2D1N via ferrata trek of Mount Kinabalu. The tour was well organised. The driver came to pick us up promptly at 6am at the hotel and drove us to the starting point of the hike. They provided us with very basic packed lunches and water (bring your own additional bottles to fill up and extra snacks). Our guide Brendan was with us the whole time, he was friendly and supportive.
Accommodation in the Pendant’s hut is shared with 8 people with warm sleeping bags but with very basic, dirty bathrooms and no shower. Food provided in the bigger hut is decent for where you are are. There is a fountain to refill your water bottles. If the weather is good and you make it up to the top at sunrise, the basic food and lack of sleep will all be forgotten and all you will keep with you is the stunning view.
Remember a head torch, warm clothes and a rain jacket. With a bit of adventure spirit and luck with the weather this can be a very hard but incredible and memorable experience.

Had a truly unforgettable and pleasant experience hiking up Mount Kinabalu with the best service from Marvelous Borneo. The advantage you get from this company is the personal guide you will get. Our guide was Arno who was very professional, encouraging, motivating and helpful. He pushed us all the way up to the summit, especially the strenuous and challenging last 2km. He helped pace us out very well so we managed to sustain our energy throughout and completed the hike comfortably. Arno took great care of us throughout and he took excellent photographs of us at the various spectacular viewpoints, which we really appreciate for being able to capture all the wonderful memories. In addition, the drivers we had for the trips were also friendly, punctual and dedicated. Marvelous Borneo is also the operator that responds very promptly to any queries. WIll definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to conquer Mount Kinabalu!

Truely amazing and unforgettable experience.
After emailing 4 companies and got all rejected for the only date I was in Kota Kinabalu to climb Mt Kinabalu, I came across Marvellous Borneo online. Reno, who went beyond to help me secure a spot which I will be forever grateful. The communication from booking to the day before the climb was clear and prompted.
The car ride to the headquarter of Mt kinabalu was very comfortable and the driver arrived ahead of time which was very nice to see.
I was introduced to my guide, Therence, who I cannot say enough praise to. Along the climb, he supported and encouraged me without creating any pressure. He put safety as the most important element to the climb and he also shared many knowledge of the mountain with me while we climb. We met many other guides and porters along the way and it was amazing to meet guides that truly care about the people that they were looking after.
I had a lifetime unforgettable experience on Mt Kinabalu and I will definitely use the services from Marvelous Borneo when I return to Borneo.

I highly recommend booking through this company. Our experience from the first email was awesome! Everything ran as expected and we didn't need to worry about a thing from the moment we were picked up from our hotel with meals included and everything organised perfectly (including the small things like our certificates being picked up and in the car waiting for us when we finished).
We did the 2D 1N tour which is amazing. It is a tough walk but the guides are fabulous and will go at your pace. It was a little windy when we were nearing the summit and being a little earlier than we needed our guide, Joseph, took us to a spot well protected to sit for 15 minutes or so until reaching the summit and showed us great spots for photos. Invaluable!
It does get cold at the top so make sure you take warm clothes (I had fleece lined wind breaker pants, merino base and mid layer with a wind breaker jacket, scarf, beanie and gloves). I wore tights and a t-shirt on the walk up and only changed to warmer clothes upon arrival. I found it hard to work out exactly what to pack so hope this helps!
After the summit we did the Lows Peak Via Ferrata. I was completely scared of this and the first section my legs were shaking I didn't think I could move. After getting used to it and learning to trust the equipment I enjoyed the experience!
Over all an amazing experience and a fabulous operator!

Their name *marvelous* could not be more appropriate! I'm so glad I chose this team to arrange my Mt. Kinabalu climb and descent via ferrata. They did all their best to accommodate my requests, including late night pick up from the airport and drop off at the Park accommodations. When I arrived at the base, it was so heartwarming to be received by the team and we all drove back to Kinabalu town. I appreciate that took all steps to make me feel safe and comfortable. Thanks guys!

We really enjoyed the service provided by this company and definitely recommend you to organize a trip to Mount Kinabalu with them. It is a new operator and they try really hard to meet your expectations. Everything was smooth and on time. The service was really perfect given the European standards. The communication was on top level - they replied to my emails / whataspp messages even in the late evening! The transfer from the hotel to Mount Kinabalu was operated by the taxi driver (transfer included in the price of the package), who was extremely polite and his English was on top level. We encountered no cons, only pros.

We went with Marvelous Borneo, for our Padas White water rafting as well as summit Kinabalu, combining with Via Ferrata Low's Peak Circuit.
– Cost: their package was good, no hidden fee, everything included. The more people joining the group, the cost will be much better.
– Transportation: 2 way transportation is included from KK-Kinabalu national park, also from the park to the gate. Our group has 4 pax and was offered a cab, hence the flexibility of going back to the city whenever we could complete the trail with no cut-off time (for Amazing Borneo, they have a bus back to the city but you need to be back to the Gate around 2.15 or 2.30pm). In case you choose to do the Via Ferrata Low’s Peak circuit like us, this is a good option to take.
– Customer Services: the guide for the climb and the taxi driver who sent us to the Park and picked us up were super nice, not a single complaint having waiting for hours (the first one in my group reached the Gate at 2.30pm and the last one at 7.30pm, anyone come down first, he sent us to a good meal first). Reno from the hotline desk was very friendly, responsive and responsible. All queries are answered within a day. Urgent matter, he always picked up the phone, even gave us recommendation for what to do in KK as well as checked if we reached the summit.
– T&C: I guess all companies will have their policy regarding cancellation and penalties fee. Please make sure you check the T&C before signing the contract :).

My partner and I finished the 2D1N Mt Kinabalu via Ferrata (Low Peak Circuit) with Marvelous. We were so lucky to keep in touch with Marvelous and had a great tour. Marvelous's staff named Reno helped me to book tour and extension the deadline of payment when I was not allowed to transfer money via bank. He helped me and I had to set up to pay via paypal. Two girls Maverlous who picked up us and arrange the packed lunch as well as the registration in Kinabalu office. They also gave us the nice souvenirs as the luggage tags. A guide is friendly.
