We did a family 7 night anima tour - to Sepilok, Kinabatangan River and Danny Valley - we had one guide for the whole trip - Atteh - and he was amazing! I had a great experience working with Sticky Rice during the planning stages and Atteh took care of us from beginning to end. He was our tour guide and animal guide throughout and not only did we see many, many animals, but animals we never would have seen on our own. And, his breadth of knowledge was vast. We learned so much! Highly recommend Sticky Rice - it was a trio of a lifetime!…

Had a fantastic time using Sticky Rice and would highly recommend them! given my itinerary elsewhere in Borneo, I wanted to do a tour of the Kinabatangan River area but very tailored to my needs. Jessica and team were very helpful in assisting me do this! I wished to do a 2night tour including a stay in Sakau on the first night and Abai the second (typically most tours do this the other way around). They accommodated this, and took me on a personal tour of the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary, and finishing off by dropping me to the airport for my flight. They went out of their way to help constantly...for example I needed a PCR test for the destination of my flight and everywhere seemed shut for a public holiday. Nevertheless, they called and drove me around numerous clinics trying to find one that was open be able to help. The tours were great, very knowledgeable and great spotters...I experienced the best Orangutan encounter I could have hoped for, being only a few metres away for over 10 minutes! Both accommodations were great, located directly on the river, very attentive staff and the food throughout was plentiful and very tasty! All in all, I would highly recommend this company!…

We have just returned home from a fantastic Borneo holiday organised by Sticky Rice. SR worked to tailor the itinerary based on our preferences for what we wanted to see and do and accommodation affordability. They were really responsive, friendly and knowledgeable, answering all our queries and reassuring us on how the various covid-rule practicalities would effect our trip. As we requested, they gave us high-quality guides for each of the three stops on our trip (Sepilok, Kingsbatangan River and Danum Valley). Their guides helped us spot loads more wildlife than we would have seen on our own, and equally importantly, the guides were able to explain WHY each of the animals or birds were behaving as they were, so we left with a much fuller appreciation of all the wildlife of Borneo. From the leeches(!) of Danum Valley; to the hundreds of monkeys we saw in the wild, with each different species having their own character and behaviours; to multiple prolonged sightings of Orangutans, both adult males and adult females with their oh so cute babies clinging on. I would highly recommend Sticky Rice when holidaying in Borneo. I’ll also be looking them up again when I return to SE Asia to see if they cover my next trip-of-a-lifetime destination! The accommodations they chose were great too.…

We can't recommend highly enough Sticky Rice Travel. Our initial trip to Borneo was scheduled for May 2020. And then COVID. Sticky Rice rebooked our trip three times - for September 2020, September 2021 and then April 2022. Each time they bent over backwards to make our trip (including a planned climb on Mt Kinabalu) work with our schedule. FINALLY we were able to travel to Borneo on April 11th (just after Malaysia re-opened to tourists). Our trip was better than we could have possibly expected. Each of the places we visited - two nights in Sepilok, two nights on the Kinabatangan River, two nights in Tabin and three nights in Danum Valley (followed by a night before and after our Mt Kinabalu climb, in Kota Kinabalu) was unique and beautiful but the Borneo Rainforest Lodge was the highlight. This trip was to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday as it had been his dream trip for decades (wanting to see the orangutans in the wild and climb Mt Kinabalu). He couldn't have been happier with the trip and we both loved our Sticky Rice guide, Bedley. One of favorite trips of all time - we hope to go back to Borneo some day with our grown kids and we will definitely use Sticky Rice again for that trip and recommend them to friends and family.…
