We went caving with Kuching Caving a few years ago, it was great to get a tour and brought back lots of great memories.
James was very knowledable and kept the information at a level us layman could enjoy.
If your interested in geology, history and nature this is the tour for you!

During a period of lockdown when we are virtual prisoners in our own homes, and the urge for adventure is screaming to be released, a virtual caving trip with Kuching Caving was a brilliant option. James took through the Lubang Batu cave system and surrounding jungle using 360 high definition photography. James was very informative and entertaining guide who explained the history and geography of the area as well as introducing us to some of the wild life.

It was a great trip through spectacular country. By the end I felt like I was covered in sweat, and bat poo, and I had not even left my living room. I highly recommend to anyone who is feeling the urge to get out and explore, one of James virtual tours.

I just attended today a 1 hour virtual cave tour with James. It was excellent, from the comfort of my own living room in Australia James conducted a tour from Sarawak through a fantastic limestone cave using spherical panorama photography and aerial photography. During the virtual tour James explained in depth many of the amazing features of the cave, the history, the rock formations, geology, archaeology and the many creatures that live in the caves. It was very enjoyable, interesting and informative.

Great day out caving exploring “big spaces”. My 9 year old daughter loved the “experiential birthday present”. Really nice adventure being explorers for a day with informative guides. We were in good hands with James and Eko who were attentive and took ultimate care for the safety of my family. We thought Big Spaces was great however the River Cave was the SUPER fun.
Highly recommended and would do it again. Thanks James! Great day out.

The trips that James offers are fantastic. They are very informative, interesting and engaging - that’s why we ended up booking a total of three trips with him! The caving experience is unmissable and an absolute must. The Tringgus Trail was a day packed with amazing food, culture, history and even a short trip to Indonesia. The knowledge and culture you are exposed to is completely authentic and a relief from the tourist trap other companies offer. We also went on the night-walk which exposed us to a variety of fascinating insect species. If you’re looking for an authentic experience in Kuching you must book a trip with James. Would definitely rate higher than five starts if I could!

This was such a fantastic find - we'd recommend to anyone looking for an adventurous day trip. James and Mr Ekoll were so helpful. We got so much information about the geology, archeology and use of the caves. We also saw so much of the caves' ecosystems - lots of creatures!

The route of the 'big spaces cool streams' package was diverse and gave a bit of challenge without being too difficult or easy for us as reasonably fit people with a little experience of caving and climbing. We felt really safe the whole time, and were able to go at our own pace without being rushed.

Great value compared to other adventure packages we've done / seen in Sarawak. Would definitely recommend borrowing boots etc.

One of the best things I've done in a month and a half in SE Asia.

Our day spent in the caves with James and his local assistant was amazing. It was intense, challenging, educational, and unforgettable! It was so nice to get out into the countryside and away from the usual tourist stuff. I found the creatures inside the cave especially interesting. My boyfriend said he thinks this may be the craziest thing the's done in his adult life! Tour was conducted in a very professional manner. Minus one star only because of some communication issues that did eventually work themselves out...

We had a very interesting day with James on the Lobang Batu trip. James delivered tons of information about the caves and biodiversity in the area. He seemed to know every stone along the way. We give Kuching Caving the best of ratings.

One of the best things to do not just in Kuching, but in the wider SE Asia region, and surprisingly accessible from Singapore in particular. Several factors make it so good. The first is James himself and, in our case, Ben, his Sarawakian colleague. James is a walking PHD in geology, anthropology, speleology, birds, insects, and culture whose knowledge is deep and genuine, as is his enthusiasm for the region. He's also a fun and engaging person to spend a day with. Ben, apart from being an expert and a great companion in his own right, has worked with the local community to quietly put up walkways, small ladders and other non-intrusive improvements which make a big difference, as you are deep in authentic Borneo forest. The second factor is the caves. They are absolutely spectacular and photographs cannot do them justice. They are huge, unspoiled and numerous and James and Ben know them inside out. They are significantly better than other more publicised cave complexes and we saw exactly one other group of five people the entire day. To get to Kuching and into the caves is easier, cheaper and quicker from Singapore than, for example, the standard Bali weekend and the town itself is clean, friendly and has enough other things to do. There is a seriously good local dinner included in the day trip that we did. You do need to be reasonably fit to scramble around, but you don't need to be a technical climber or caver, and there is nothing dangerous about the trip. All in all, one of the best experiences I have had in some time and am certainly getting some people together and going back for a more ambitious weekend.
