We had a great kayak down the Semadang river. It was peaceful and the currents made the paddle a little easier. It was fun to explore the hidden waterfall and ride some of the rapids. It was a wonderful day! Would recommend this tour.

Had a great day kayaking with guides David and McQueen. They are very knowledgable about the environment and added fun activities like feeding the fish. River is quite calm and scenery is beautiful.

Very nice easy paddle down the Semarang river. Going downstream all the way means that the current does most of the work so we just glided along and looked at the scenery. We are experienced paddlers - I think that it might have been seen as a bit more demanding by novices, however the pace is so easy that everyone was able to keep up.
We did half a day on the river and then had a nice lunch of local food (based on chicken and rive) at a company base. There are also good showers here.
Thanks you to McQueen and David for good humoured guiding.
Top tip for the rapids - go where the guides go!
This was our last day in Borneo and was a very nice end to the trip.

David and Macqueen were excellent guides. Funny and supportive and made the trip a day to remember. From being showered in a waterfall, feeding fish and body boarding... Great fun!

David and his team were fantastic. Patient, friendly and fun, David made sure we had a great, and safe, day out on the water. The apres-kayak part was excellent as well. Clean showers to freshen up and a delicious lunch of local dishes added to the thoroughly enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

Great experience with semadang kayak.. This is my second time with them.. Our guide, David is very helpful and professional, and always with his jokes, make us laugh all the way.. Thank you David to make our trip much more fun and memorable.. David, Macquen, Norman n Pai are the best guides we can ask for, so experienced, making sure that we are safe.
There are 3 pit stops along the way - the waterfall, fish feeding and swimming areas. Really recommend for those who wants to try kayak..

A highlight of our time in Sarawak, our day trip with this company was wonderful. When I made arrangements from home, they responded quickly and completely to my questions (including to my questions on life jackets for kids, which they definitely had). Our river guides, David and McQueen, were consummate professionals in terms of safety and helping less-skilled kayakers, though I don’t think any previous experience with kayaking is necessary. Our 12 and 14 year-olds thoroughly enjoyed it.
David and McQueen clearly enjoy their jobs. The scenery was amazing. A stop at a waterfall necessitated walking on the riverbed in <1 meter of water, so definitely have your cameras/valuables in a dry bag (which the company will lend to you ). We were surprised and grateful to have online access, for several weeks, to several dozen photos taken by David and McQueen of our particular trip. The end of the trip lunch was tasty.

To kayak along the river rapid is a " Wow! Wow!" experience. Our guide, David is very helpful though I think Semadang needs to upgrade its water proof camera to a better one as photos taken were not sharp. We enjoyed the fish feeding as it is really very natural activities. Initially, I thought we are feeding in a fish kelong but it is feeding in the river.

I don't know if it is allowed. That being said, all water sports carry some inherent danger - I personally wouldn't have done the trip with children that young even if it was allowed. Any time you are on moving water there is a danger if a child falls out of them being caught up in a log jam or rocks and not being able to get their face out of the water.
Also, there aren't many points where you could get off the river if you needed/wanted to. It was an excellent trip but I really think it is one for older kids or adults.
You can contact them and see what they say, though.
Hi, infant 10 month can join kayaking?

Hi Vimala,
No. We do not recommend you to bring 10 months old infant for the tour.
Rivers are unpredictable, even if it’s the calmest river ever. Babies are just too little to help themselves in any possible way even with life jacket on.
Please contact us directly if you need recommendation for alternative tour suitable family.

Luke Kenny

hi there, I might be able to answer some of your questions:
1) check their website for official rates.
2) you will get a lifejacket so even for non-swimmers it is safe. just don't kayak too violently (because of the risk of capsizing).
3) kayaks are big enough so your husband will surely fit in it.
4) Special food requests: tell them in advance what kind of special requests you have.
Hello I am Henry. I am travelling myself and in Kuching now. I would like to ask if there is a kayaking group I could join these days (31-3/9)? how much is it?

Hi There, is iT possible to have 2 adults and 1 child (7 years) in one kayak?
Kind regards,

Kuching
Hi there, it is not possible as we're using a double sit on top kayak. Normally we advise only 2 person to sit on each kayak. For a 7 year old child, he/she can kayak together with the parent or with the guide. Please send us email if you need more clarification. Regards, Luke Kenny
