We (a family of 4) spent 15 nights travelling, mainly in Sarawak, in a tour booked through a UK agent but managed locally by Borneo Adventure who provided drivers and guides. It included the following Borneo Adventure tours: Semenggoh Orangutan, 3D 2N Ulu Ai Experience, Bako day tour, Essential Mulu Showcaves 3D 2N.
We really enjoyed and would recommend all the above except the Bako day trip, as the park was really crowded on the (August) day that we went.
All connections, trips etc went perfectly to plan. Drivers were very good and friendly. Special thanks to Edgar, our guide for Ulu Ai and Nelson, Mulu guide, who were both very knowledgeable, friendly and conscientious.

We had an amazing experience in Borneo!!! Our tour planner Disney was fantastic and he helped us with a customized itinerary that was planned over a number of years due to the pandemic interruption. We toured in both Sabah & Sarawak - staying in everything from simple jungle lodges accessed by boat and hiking to a great resort to end our 2-week adventure. Our focus was on the wildlife of the region and orangutans in particular, as well as learning about the diverse culture of this unique island. Our wonderful guide Karel in Sarawak customized our journey along the way as we explored the variety found from Kuching to remote Batang Ai - from traditional culture to an active church. In Sabah the absolute highlight was the Danum Valley. This experience far exceeded our expectations and Disney made sure every detail was in place and at a great price! I am so glad we planned our trip with Borneo Adventure and that we could plan through a local company - thank you for a magnificent adventure of a lifetime!!

My husband and I took the 9D8N "Best Of Kuching & Damai" tour in July and we were so lucky we did it with Borneo Adventure!!
We loved EVERYTHING about this tour: planning and booking it was a breeze with the help of Disney and, from the moment we landed in Kuching, we felt taken care of with kindness and friendship. Everything was arranged to perfection and even small, last minute issues (not many, I have to say) were taken care of with the utmost professionalism and always with a smile.
The highlight for us was definitely the time spent in the jungle at Nanga Sumpa lodge. Being in the jungle has been eye-opening and we got to meet the most amazing humans: above all our guide, the immense Teddy "Bear"; the lodge manager, Freddie, together with the staff and the Iban people from the longhouse; our fellow travelers, who we shared many laughs with.
We want to thank all the wonderful guides and drivers we've met during the amazing time spent in Sarawak. We'll treasure each and every moment and we'll be back for more!!

This is one of the best tour companies in Malaysia, not just Sarawak. They are so well organized and professional while keeping things relaxed and fun
Ben, our guide was knowledgeable helpful and patient throughout the entire trip. The food was delicious and the facilities were basic but well maintained and appropriate for the environment
The whole team are genuinely friendly and attentive.
We had the trip of a lifetime and I look forward to another adventure with them someday

We've decided to go visit Borneo then decided to visit Kota Kinabalu.
While in KK, we read about the Gnung Mulu, so here we are.
Arrangement was made on the spot!
After a number of emails enquiring about the possible arrangement, we only had 2 days 1 night to visit Mulu.
Everyone advised use for a minimum of 3days trip but one of the guy Donovan, told us we should be able to visit the main sites in 2 days and be on our flight back by 12 on 2nd day!
We then booked our 9am flight out of KK on the next day.
Arrived and relaxing at the park by 10:30, driver had given us a quick intro to our guide, Nelson on the way and that he'd be meeting us at the park office by 2pm.
Visiting Deer Cave and Lang cave then watching the millions of Bats streaming out of the Deer Cave was just amazing!
Guide explained how we can schedule our 2nd day.
We met him at 8am after a quick breakfast.
He took us to the wind cave then to the clear water cave.
He assured us that we will not be late for our 12 flight.
We were at the airport checked in by 11am!
Now on our flight back to KK!
Thanks to Donovan for his advice and Nelson our guide to make our short trip a success!

We enjoyed the Kinabatangan River tour (4D3N). It was well organized and met our expectations. Very interesting are the boat trips on the river, in the evening and early in the morning, to observe the animals in their environment. The two accommodations are very comfortable and suggestive because they are immersed in the forest and overlooking the river. A special thanks to our guide Shiro, competent and nice.

Borneo Adventure were very professional and dedicated, as well as having everything that we wanted to do on our trip around Borneo.
Disney Jaboh was simply the best at organising and arranging our complicated and fairly lengthy tour of Borneo. He was there to meet us and knew all the relevant people to make a difficult itinerary possible. He quite simply is a legend!!!
Highlights included:
Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary
Sun Bear Centre
Kinabatangan River Abai
Longhouse Experience
Semenggoh Wildlife Centre
PS - Give Disney Jaboh a pay rise!

Just back from a week with Borneo Adventures visiting Bako overnight and Batang Ai.
The whole period created some of our strongest memories through our 2.5 weeks in Malaysia and I would thoroughly recommend the company if you’re looking for a quality service.
Since individuals create the experience, I want to highlight our guide, Lemon, who was a really class act. Has a real presence and charm and stood out amongst the guides we met on our trip. We felt lucky to have him. Like some of the rest of the team, he was also part of the team hosting Anthony Bourdain during his last visit to the region (see the “Parts Unknown” Borneo episode.)
We also paid for a private family tour. Whilst we still interacted with larger groups in some of the accommodation (which was great), it did mean we had lots of special attention and individual sections. If a family or group and it fits your budget then I’d recommend.
Overall, a strong recommendation for the experience we had with Lemon.

We've just returned from a family trip to Sarawak and two private tours organised by the fantastic Borneo Adventure team - Bako overnight and 3 day Batang Ai trip.
The whole process from first contact, through to the timings and logistics of the tour were handled very efficiently and professionally. The tours themselves were amazing and memorable. The Borneo rainforest is stunning and we were lucky to see wild orangutans, proboscis monkeys, pit vipers, wild boar (and more!) and were treated to Iban warm hospitality when visiting the longhouse at Naga Sumpa. Also, we enjoyed the thrill and skill of the coffin boats weaving us through the waterways and rapids, swimming in waterfalls and a local bamboo barbeque lunch as well as hikes deep into the forest.
Special mention to our tour guide, Lemon, who made the trip for us. His cool and calm manner, knowledge about the rainforest and his attentiveness throughout were really impressive. I would definitely recommend asking for him personally.
If you are lucky enough to visit this lovely part of the World, I wouldn't hesitate to book with this company.

Sarawak is good for longhouses and has the Bako National Park and Semenggoh Orang Utang Sanctuary. Sabah has many wildlife reserves such as Tabin, Danum Valley and the Kinabatangan River. Also the Semenggoh Orang Utang Sanctuary where sightings are guaranteed.

Hello,
I was wondering whether there is any difference between the different organizations that provide the Red Ape Trail.
Since there are many organizations with quite big differences in price, I was wondering how you chose the organization you went with and what your experiences are with this.
Many thanks.

The Red Ape Trail at Batang Ai was developed by Borneo Adventure with the local Iban community. We maintain the trails and various jungle camps and operate the tour. We sell the trip on our website and also market the tour to some overseas (and local) tour operators who we work with. So yes there are few organizations that market the trip. Some overseas tour operators include the Red Ape Trail as part of a wider / longer Sarawak tour, others sell the trek as a stand-alone trip.
We would like to book a day tour to spot Pygmy Elephants in December. We are staying in Kota Kinabalu. Is this possible? Thanks
