I booked my trip to Mulu National Park via Mr. Disney. He is very responsive and was prompt to assist to re-arrange my itinerary as soon as I told him my flight was delayed. I was safely guided by a local throughout the pinnacle hike and caves tour, Mr Nelson. He is experienced and friendly. I had an amazing time and would strongly recommend Borneo Adventure to any of you who want to have your trip planned out before you arrive.

We had a wonderful experience with Borneo Adventure at Nanga Sumpa. Our tour was led by Edgar who is knowledgeable and shared many stories. The lodge is fully equipped, well run, clean and very spacious. We took the family room with en-suite bathroom, they brought in clean bedsheets and blankets. Food at the lodge was simple but good. The trek to Enseluai was easy and very enjoyable as Edgar shared a lot of information of the fauna & flora as well as stories of Nanga Sumpa & Iban families. We loved the lunch at the waterfall cooked by the boatmen, and we enjoyed their company. Good communications with Borneo Adventure from the time we booked right till the tour ended. Everything was per the itinerary, all the pick ups were seamless with quick stops at Serian/Lachau. This tour is highly recommended. Thanks Borneo Adventure

Borneo Adventure were very professional and dedicated, as well as having everything that we wanted to do on our trip around Borneo.
Disney Jaboh was simply the best at organising and arranging our complicated and fairly lengthy tour of Borneo. He was there to meet us and knew all the relevant people to make a difficult itinerary possible. He quite simply is a legend!!!

Just back from a week with Borneo Adventures visiting Bako overnight and Batang Ai.
The whole period created some of our strongest memories through our 2.5 weeks in Malaysia and I would thoroughly recommend the company if you’re looking for a quality service.
Since individuals create the experience, I want to highlight our guide, Lemon, who was a really class act. Has a real presence and charm and stood out amongst the guides we met on our trip. We felt lucky to have him. Like some of the rest of the team, he was also part of the team hosting Anthony Bourdain during his last visit to the region (see the “Parts Unknown” Borneo episode.)
We also paid for a private family tour. Whilst we still interacted with larger groups in some of the accommodation (which was great), it did mean we had lots of special attention and individual sections. If a family or group and it fits your budget then I’d recommend.
Overall, a strong recommendation for the experience we had with Lemon.

Our trip of a lifetime was made even more special with the excellent guides and immersive authentic experiences organised by Borneo Adventure. We stayed overnight at Bako national park for lots of wildlife in their natural habitat, trekked in Batang Ai where we were lucky to spend time with local communities and see orangutans in the wild and explored Santabong wildlife reserve on the river at sunset. All magical and we enjoyed every minute. Even better, Borneo Adventure are long term collaborators with the local communities we visit, helping to secure more protected rainforest for wildlife and future generations. Highly recommended. Book it. You won't regret it!

Thank you so much for sharing your travel experiences of Bako and Batang Ai. Orangutan sightings at Batang Ai have been really good this year. Great that you got to experience seeing an orangutan in the wild.

We spent unforgettable 4 days in the Batang Ai area, with its breathtakingly beautiful rivers and jungle. We were impressed by the organisation of Borneo Adventure, the huge knowledge of our guide Bayang, and the skilled Iban longboat drivers. We learned so much about the flora and fauna, about the culture and life of the Iban people, even how they cook food in bamboo sticks. The lodge and the camp are both wonderful, the meals really delicious, and all the staff very friendly, relaxed and eager to help. We can highly recommend Borneo Adventure, last and not least because they involve and work together with the Iban people in a sustainable manner.

My husband and I took the 9D8N "Best Of Kuching & Damai" tour in July and we were so lucky we did it with Borneo Adventure!!
We loved EVERYTHING about this tour: planning and booking it was a breeze with the help of Disney and, from the moment we landed in Kuching, we felt taken care of with kindness and friendship. Everything was arranged to perfection and even small, last minute issues (not many, I have to say) were taken care of with the utmost professionalism and always with a smile.
The highlight for us was definitely the time spent in the jungle at Nanga Sumpa lodge. Being in the jungle has been eye-opening and we got to meet the most amazing humans: above all our guide, the immense Teddy "Bear"; the lodge manager, Freddie, together with the staff and the Iban people from the longhouse; our fellow travelers, who we shared many laughs with.
We want to thank all the wonderful guides and drivers we've met during the amazing time spent in Sarawak. We'll treasure each and every moment and we'll be back for more!!

We (a family of 4) spent 15 nights travelling, mainly in Sarawak, in a tour booked through a UK agent but managed locally by Borneo Adventure who provided drivers and guides. It included the following Borneo Adventure tours: Semenggoh Orangutan, 3D 2N Ulu Ai Experience, Bako day tour, Essential Mulu Showcaves 3D 2N.
We really enjoyed and would recommend all the above except the Bako day trip, as the park was really crowded on the (August) day that we went.
All connections, trips etc went perfectly to plan. Drivers were very good and friendly. Special thanks to Edgar, our guide for Ulu Ai and Nelson, Mulu guide, who were both very knowledgeable, friendly and conscientious.
We really enjoyed and would recommend all the above except the Bako day trip, as the park was really crowded on the (August) day that we went.

It is worth booking the excursions in advance, although it may be a little more expensive. Now in July almost all tours were fully booked. Borneo Adventures is very well organized. Booking Referral from Germany hassle-free and communication (English) very good and reactive (note time difference). During the tours through the park, a guide is worthwhile, as otherwise you will neither find nor see most animals. Our guide was very nice and informative. Again, one should be able to speak English. Value for money is reasonable. We can highly recommend the operator.

We booked Bako National Park 2D1N in May. The lodge type 4 wasn't great as can be expected in a jungle camp, but what a great experience! Our guide Alex was extremely passionate in his work. He gave himself no rest; from early morning till late evening he was at our service. When we were eating he was out looking for animals to show us. When the Lemur started "flying" he offered to film it with our phone so we could watch the show ourselves. He is also very knowledgeable and kind. Best guide we ever had. Most notable animals we saw were 2 pit viper snakes, Proboscis monkeys, silver leave monkeys, wild boar and a flying lemur while floating through the air. The hike to the many flesh eating plants was also beautiful. He offered us the option to take the boat there and walk back 1-way, which is definitely advisable.

Doing Kinabatangan River 2n3d tour with 2 children aged 10+. What clothing should we take trousers or shorts, walking shoes/ trainers or sandals?

Have done tour now, if doing boat trips only, shorts and sandals are fine. As long as you have insect repellent. If doing a jungle walk take trousers and suitable walking shoes. Trainers are fine unless trekking.

Sarawak is good for longhouses and has the Bako National Park and Semenggoh Orang Utang Sanctuary. Sabah has many wildlife reserves such as Tabin, Danum Valley and the Kinabatangan River. Also the Semenggoh Orang Utang Sanctuary where sightings are guaranteed.

The Red Ape Trail at Batang Ai was developed by Borneo Adventure with the local Iban community. We maintain the trails and various jungle camps and operate the tour. We sell the trip on our website and also market the tour to some overseas (and local) tour operators who we work with. So yes there are few organizations that market the trip. Some overseas tour operators include the Red Ape Trail as part of a wider / longer Sarawak tour, others sell the trek as a stand-alone trip.
