If art is supposed to make you think, this modern sculpture succeeds. The only thing is that you'll be thinking and thinking of just what the devil it is supposed to be! Not very convincing even when told it is supposedly hornbills. Didn't do anything for me.

This is located near the Tua Pek Kong temple. It is hard to figure out what this is and it is not very photogenic. Not worth a special trip.

It was easily noticeable but not so easy to make out. We were trying to figure out if they were meant to give a 3D impression or many hornbills. Whatever it was, it's a good landmark and we took pictures with it.

The fountain is situated just away from the Esplanade near to the James Brooke Bistro Restaurant. It is a modern piece of art built to look like a Hornbill. It is lit up at night and the fountain was working when we visited.

Need to stop for a while and figure it out, what is it. And after seeing in a bit distance and connected to what is famous in Kuching, ... it must be a hornbill, the mascot bird of Kuching. Yes is a modern art in the shape of hornbill made from stainles steel. Positioned in the middle of fountain, looks OK and good. Maybe in the night with lights will look better. Easy to find when you are wandering in Kuching water front or river esplanade near the Chinese History Musium and Tua Pek Kong Temple. Do the visits all together, all are free.

Don't make special trip but if your walking the waterfront, at an exit near the James Brooke bistro, stop and take a look. It's a beautiful beautiful artistic interpretation of the spectacular hornbill birds in the region.

Oops! Couldn't make out exactly what it was until doing the review! Thought that's what it probably was but really wasn't sure! Lol The water was only flowing on one occasion. The tiles need a clean and maybe a plaque to show what it is would be helpful!

This is not a fountain to make any effort to see. It's interesting if you're already walking past. Nothing special though.

As your stroll along waterfront, it worth to stop and take picture with Hornbill Fountain. Hornbill is an important element to represent Sarawak. Spend 5-10 mins for picture takings
