Free museum /gallery on the 4th floor of the Tun Jugah building houses an amazing collection of Iban weaving, some as old as 200 years. There is also silver jewelry and ceramics and a separate gallery containing a bead collection. Weavers have looms set up in the gallery and visitors can watch them at work and talk to them about their craft. Worth a visit

It's a private museum and people have taken great care to display information and artefacts. The museum also hosts a great library that is open to everyone. They also have a section where women practice weaving and bead art. It's fabulous to see them carefully counting the threads and patiently weaving it.

Located on the 4th floor of what appears to be an office building, fairly close to the waterfront area and just steps from the Batik Boutique Hotel, this is a lovely gallery open to the public in the offices of a foundation meant to preserve the legacy of a Sarawak leader and his wife, who was an accomplished weaver. There are several rooms displaying gorgeous old textiles, and another large room with looms showing various stages of the weaving process. There were several weavers hard at work while we were there. When we had questions, a staff person from the foundation came and walked us through the process and provided very helpful information. This was a free exhibit and well-worth a half-hour of your time if you have any interest in textiles.

Food court on the 3rd floor where there is a decent selection of local and western fare. Next to it is Popular Bookstore.

Located on the fourth floor of the building, this museum showcases the Iban weaving process, beadwork and textiles. There was a weaving demonstration on-site with displays of beautiful old textile, silverware and beads. Staff here were friendly. Entrance is free and worth a visit to gain insight into the culture and handicraft of the Ibans.

This is the second time that I had taken students for a field trip to the Foundation. Knowledgable & friendly staff plus a superb collection of Iban & Orang Ulu material culture/artifacts. For rhose who intend to visit do by all means contact Mdm Janet to make an appointment. The weaving studio & mini museum is located on the 4th floor.

This gallery is a great place to get a feel for important aspects of Iban/Orang ulu material culture, especially some of the traditional bead work and weaving. There is a weaving school. They have some excellent books for sale. The gallery is tucked away on the fourth floor (up from the Garden Cafe). Note there is a local food court on the third floor and you will be across the road from the Sarawak Plaza.

it was quite a challenge to find the place at first. On the fourth floor of a administrative building above a food court and without a sign for museum the Tun Jugah Foudation showcase a beatiful collection of Iban textiles and beads. When I went there a woman was weaving and explained her techniques. Just a stroll of the waterfront in Kuching and only open during office hours. Very well worth a visit!

I spent an hour viewing the exhibits, and it was fascinating to learn about the significance of the intricate patterns in the handwoven textile.
