I spent an hour viewing the exhibits, and it was fascinating to learn about the significance of the intricate patterns in the handwoven textile.

The collection may be small but the items on show are interesting. The staff are very knowledgeable about Iban weaving. Would love to join one of their weaving and dyeing workshops.

The gallery here showcases Iban woven tapestries and some garments. They are very interesting, and we spent about an hour here. It is on the 3rd floor of a shopping mall, so you have to search a little for it.

Food court on the 3rd floor where there is a decent selection of local and western fare. Next to it is Popular Bookstore.

Tun Jugah was a distinguished politician after WW2 and was from the Iban tribe. The foundation displays local crafts, including tribal weaving. You can actually watch textiles being made, and ask about how they (all women when I was there) do it. It is amazing how they keep the design in their heads when the process of creating them is so complicated. Absolutely worth a trip.

I find this place complemented the Textile Museum very much. The workshop and actual pieces of beads accessories and woven products were stunning. One of the family members was around when I visited the place and her personal insights and sharing of the stories behind each piece was quite intriguing.

Located on the fourth floor of the building, this museum showcases the Iban weaving process, beadwork and textiles. There was a weaving demonstration on-site with displays of beautiful old textile, silverware and beads. Staff here were friendly. Entrance is free and worth a visit to gain insight into the culture and handicraft of the Ibans.

Located on the 4th floor of what appears to be an office building, fairly close to the waterfront area and just steps from the Batik Boutique Hotel, this is a lovely gallery open to the public in the offices of a foundation meant to preserve the legacy of a Sarawak leader and his wife, who was an accomplished weaver. There are several rooms displaying gorgeous old textiles, and another large room with looms showing various stages of the weaving process. There were several weavers hard at work while we were there. When we had questions, a staff person from the foundation came and walked us through the process and provided very helpful information. This was a free exhibit and well-worth a half-hour of your time if you have any interest in textiles.
