Maybe still suffering Covid blues, but the place seemed pretty lifeless when we visited. Friendly staff and cold beer, but not inexpensive, even during Happy Hour. I guess average for the area though.

We went to this place based on recommendations in a guide book. The first time was a Friday night and the service was absolutely appalling!! I mean - really bad!! There were three staff working, a woman behind the bar and two men doing I'm not sure what. On arrival one of the men grunted at us and was obviously displeased to be there. I had to ask for a drinks menu and when I tried to order from him he merely pointed at the bar and would not take our order. We had one drink and left. The whole time we were the three staff members were on their phones. After talking about it we decided to give it another go and went there on the Monday night. The service that night was great!! We were given choice of seating and chose a table outside and the staff were very attentive and friendly and they even took our order from us this time!! If we had not gone back I would only have given this was one star but the Monday night they were able to redeem themselves and hence the three star rating.

What I like most here is; that this place has 2 sitting areas: - it is an Air Condition bar on the inside which is a Non-smoking area; so people like me could enjoy…. and there is an outdoor sitting area outside created for the smokers!
They have a nice selection of Retro music, mostly from the 80s/90s, played not too loud, so you could have a drink or two, chat and meet people.
Also worth mentioning is that they have a wide selection of imported beers; Draughts and Whiskies which I found to be reasonably priced.
Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

A wide selection of drinks. Love the ambience and music. A place to unwind and chit chat with friends. Unique outdoor wooden benches and interior decoration. Spent most evenings here while in Kuching. The bar is easy to find as it is strategically located at a junction.

Had pre-dinner drinks with the husband, it’s within 10mins walk from our hotel, Hilton, and it’s a relaxing place with interesting decor for drinks before we head for our dinner.

It’s a cool little bar, Shabby chic decor. Nice enough place for a drink. We were quite excited to see a menu that had a page for vegan food! Wow we thought, we weren’t expecting that. We probably should have realised why it isn’t on any of the vegan food apps.
The vegetarian noodles had egg. Although that would be fine for a vegetarian. The fried tofu seemed to covered in a chicken sauce! Not good for Veggie’s or Vegans. The sweet potatoe fries where just weird with a sweet powder coating!
My recommendation is stick to the beer!

We went into the Drunken Monkey for a drink on a warm day. It has an eclectic mixture of objects decorating the long bar area, but it is pretty filthy! The barman was quite introvert and was more interested in arranging the bar rather than conversing with anyone at the bar (from observation...we were sitting away from the bar). Very little atmosphere...somewhere for a drink!

This was my go-to bar whilst I was working in Kuching for two weeks. Good prices, great beer and a good selection of malts (essential to a travelling Scot!)

Right in the heart of the old town, plays cheesy but fun tunes and nice staff. Outside tables on the cobbled streets give you a good vibe of the town.
