There are several cat monuments and statues scattered around Kuching. Most are in need of minor repairs and attention, but still neat for a quick photo. Kids will especially enjoy.

Kuching is known as cat city, so there are numerous cat statues scattered all over town. This cat monument is by far the most popular.

If you have time, do take a 10 minutes walk to visit the Padungan roundabout white cat statue as well.

Easily accessible by foot if u stay at Imperial Riverbank Hotel, Riverside Hotel or Margherita Hotel. Next to the Kuching waterfront.

There are actually a few cat monuments in town. While most cities just put these in roundabouts with no way to park and go there for a photo, these are usually positioned in such a way where you can park and then walk across to take a photo. Worth checking out.

Located in Chinatown, this monument has been here for over 30 years. Be careful about your safety as it is a very busy traffic area.

Tacky sculpture if family of cats. Just walk past it and have a look and yiu have done your duty to the city's fixation with cats!

I spent half of my weekend strolling around Kuching from Pontianak. This statue resides in the very center of Kuching and it really tells you how unique this city is

The cat statue is located at Kuching China Town, in front of Padungan Road,near city centre.
This monuments' cat will be wearing different styles of uniform according to festival celebrated .Examples, during Chinese New Year, red color suit.

Obviously some sort of tourist gimmick for Kuching.
Not my taste.
Not even very good for photos - I deleted mine.
Bit of a waste of time really.
Don't go out of your way to see it.

What's New Pussycat!

At the end of Padungan Street, you come across a huge Cat figure/monument a tourist gimmick but fun to take a pic and get the famous street in background, Carry on walking and you come to a great little park called Jubilee, to relax in or exercise when the sun drops.
