The name secret garden is a perfect description of this place. It is located on the roof of a five and a half million square feet shopping mall and requires both perseverance and detective work to find it. However, once there you feel miles away from the packed mall below and the surrounding urban areas. Ideal for partners that want to escape the relentless tour of the mall!!

It is located on the top floor of 1 Utama shopping mall and it has a huge collection of plants and flowers. I visited it along with a friend in the afternoon and it was hot, so could not explore it fully. It's better to go there in the evening. There is no entrance fee but there are very few visitors inside when we went there.

This garden is home to most tropical plants, some of which are not easily found these days. One can find herbs, flowering plants, creepers, even fruit trees, with water feature. But be warned, it is pretty humid as this is the tropics.

The screet garden is a nice garden located on the roof top of the One Utama Mall, Kuala Lumpur. This garden is opened for public only freely on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 10pm. According to the brochure, there are about 600 species of plants. For plant lovers, don't miss to go here when you are in Kuala Lumpur. You can reach this place by using bus number 800 from KL Sentral or by using a taxi about RM29. When you reach the mall, try to ask to guards. If the don't know about the location, ask the location of the Secret Recipe restaurant. And then find a lift near this restaurant. Only using this lift you can go to the Garden. In this lift, pres the Secret Garden button.

Not many people know about this gorgeous garden, but yes, this garden (the largest rooftop garden in South East Asia) is really a great place to get a breath of fresh air after walking around from one end to the other end of 1Utama - largest shopping mall in Malaysia and the fourth largest in the world.

You may not be able to find how to get there, but do go to their customer service counter to get directions. A lift at the new wing (which brings you to Neway karaoke & camp 5) would take you directly to this Secret Garden.

Although my knowledge of plants and flowers are very shallow, I must say that the variety of plants found here is really good. The owner of the mall really took some effort to transform this rooftop into a beautiful garden.

Also a good place to have a garden party and take wedding photos. recommended for families with kids to view some lovely flora & fauna.

This could be a very good place to relax when you're tired of walking and shopping in 1 Utama, the biggest shopping mall in Malaysia. Just take the lift to the roof-top and you will be amazed that a roof-top garden is present up there. No wonder why they call it The Secret Garden. If you're a plant enthusiast, this is very good for you because you can see a lot of plant collections like the cacti, vines, temperate and highland plants, foliage plants, flowering trees and shrubs, food plants, accent plants like the palms, conifers and bananas, and one plant that really struck my attention was the Amazon lilies, I found it really beautiful!
If you plan on setting up a garden, visiting this place can give you an idea on how to go about with the landscaping and all. Found out that they use the Biochar (smal particles of charcoal) mixed with their soil because aside from it helping the plants to grow and flower, it is also lightweight and lightens the load on the roof.
Very educational place to visit plus it's for free! N

Finally made my way there after reading about it somewhere. A good alternative for those without a garden in their homes.

Although an avid fan of greens, I am not good in providing a list of plants available there but definitely worth a visit among the concrete jungles!

Great place for families. There are many many varieties of plants, flowers, even wheat, pomelo. There are love seats to just relax. Many midst fans so it's not too hot, even in the mid afternoon. What i dont like are couples who will sit there and smoke (even when its not allowed). Noticed it EVERY time i went there. The man will smoke with his arms around the lady. Thank goodness, there was no hanky panky. That aside, the place is lovely. Young children running along the designated path and seeing different types of flowers. Good exposure.

It was as sweet as your dream garden. You will be accompanied by blooming flowers and fresh greenness. The fact that it is located at the rooftop of a shopping mall made it even more convenient to visit. Good touch by the mall.
