Being the largest mosque on Malaysia, distinguishable by its prominent blue and silver finishings, we decided to make a quick photo stop.
We were greeted with a very peaceful and zen vibe. Makes a nice stroll on the weekend. But it can get pretty warm during midday. Carpark lots are a plenty. Overall, worth a visit.

I use to go here in the evening and night, during Asr and Maghriba prayers. The mosques is located at the opposite of the religious affairs office. The tourists must visit this mosque. It has its own uniqueness in Selangor.

It has been my favourite mosque of my routine Friday prayer. Such a beautiful mosque and very intricate design of islamic motif inside the mosque. The minute you walk in on the main floor above, you can feels the serenity and calmness before you starts your prayer.

At night, the lights lit up the mosque and it's beautiful. The blue colour is enhanced by the lights at night.

This place doesn't seem to feature on many itineraries, There was a guide that took us around. The guide was really informative and patient with all of us. He also had a really good sense of humour This place is free to visit, there's only a donation box if you wish to help maintain this mosque. The mosque itself is really beautiful with its design and the the blue dome

Being non-Muslim and curious about religion and culture we decided to visit a mosque while in Kuala Lumpur. We chose this one primarily based on look and size. It was big bold and blue featuring 4 impressive minarets. The architecture did not disappoint as we step off our Grab car. Tourist reception was very friendly once we go through the routine of removing shoes, wearing headscarf if female, and entering some information in the guest book. Visitors wearing shorts were provided with a sort of long tunic to cover their legs. The guide who was assigned to us was friendly and spoke decent English since he spent some time in the US for graduate work in Statistics. He walked us through the central prayer halls, accessory buildings reserved for other type of receptions and weddings, all the while delivering a good lecture about the mosque history (it's a modern structure), Islam as a religion and way of life. He was attentive to my pointed questions about the current conflict between Islam and the Western world. Of course, pamphlets covering all the questions we have had were provided at the end of the tour. The tour is free. A donation box is provided should you decide to support the mosque with a few ringits.

This place doesn't seem to feature on many itineraries, but it's really impressive and in its time has boasted several world firsts and claims to significance. It is far more spectacular, visually, than the National Mosque which everybody goes to see. The staff here are superb, with tours being led by hugely knowledgeable volunteers on the weekend. A really wonderful visit...

Yes, you can. But you cannot bring stroller inside the mosque. You can put the stroller at the tourist entrance.

InshaAllah, God Will.. this 12th September we will hold an event Eid Adha at Blue Mosque,Shah Alam and tourists also can see how Muslim manage a halal food with slaughtering about 23 cows. Save the date and see with your own eyes. You can also hear the scientific reason behind this step of slaughtering "sacrifice animal".
I would like to take some non-Muslims relatives to see th e mosque n when is the best time to take them around. They are leaving back to europe tomorrow.

Just get to the main entrance, ask for the assistance/guide from the security guys (in uniform) and I am pretty sure they will help you. You might be restricted from entering the main praying hall (due to certain reason).... Oh ya, you need to follow some basic attire rules (especially for women as you need to cover certain parts of your body & head/hair... don't worry - they will provide it ) You are most welcome, friends!!

Hi Ajith,
Are you still coming to Shah Alam? If yes. Welcome :).
I will suggest you few options for transportation assuming that you will depart from KL Sentral
1. Take KTM Commuter to Padang Jawa Station (RM2.90/adult/one way), then take taxi (maximum 4 adults/taxi) to the Sultan Salahuddin Mosque. You may want the taxi driver to wait since tgere is no other public transport in that area, or you will have to walk to Plaza Shah Alam (approx. 500m) to get new taxi. Then with taxi, go to I-City. Last train from Padang Jawa to KL Sentral is around 10.50pm (not very sure). You will need taxi from I-City to Padang Jawa Station. One way taxi normally costs RM12.
2. From KL Sentral, take bus U80, to Section 2, Shah Alam. Ticket around rm3/adult/one way. From Section 2, take taxi with similar planning as in number 1 above.
I hope this will help.
Akidah.
