There are two major islands that you can enjoy. One is Perhentian Kecil (Small) where you can enjoy restaurant, cafe, watersports and enjoy nightlife with lights while you are sitting facing the beach. And the others one is Perhentian Besar(Big) where the beaches having less people, not a lot of restaurant or cafe (mostly provided by the resort), suitable for... More

If you are looking for a retreat, away from commercial life, this is the place to be. It's like a dream come true. Surrounded by nature, it makes you forget time and date, its so all encompassing. I loved the food...best seafood in Malaysia!!!! It's expensive as compare to the rest of the country but totally worth it. If you... More

We absolutely loved the perhentains, after backpacking south east Asia for two and a half months, this was definitely our favourite stop. Think white beaches, sunshine and the clearest blue water you'll ever see, it was a week in Paradise. With plenty of snorkelling tours, restaurants and nightlife to keep you busy, it's not hard to find things to do.... More

You should at least experience Perhentian once in your lifetime and you should do it fast before the big hotels come. For example, when I first visited in 2007, Bubu Long Beach was basically a good clean place to stay while you enjoy the beach. By the time my fourth visit in 2016, it has turned into a full-fledged resort... More

If there is a heaven, Its here.. Water is very clear. At some places corals are dead thats only sad part. People are very friendly. We stayed at mama's chalet on Besar. and visited during Ramadan. So there was almost no night life and most restaurants were closed. Beach on mama's chalet is not great but you will just have to... More

We had a great time doing all these things. I cannot compare it with other islands of Malaysia because I have only gone to this... More

I visited these islands first time in 2008. They were pristine, little hidden paradises surrounded by jungle and a deep clear emerald water full of fishes sharks turtles and the most amazing coral I have ever seen. Well, the paradise is gone. Even Besar, which is supposed to be the more quiet and preserved island, is now built and over... More

The water was crystal clear and the place was not too crowded which made snorkelling extremely pleasant. It was not difficult to find food and they were most of the time really yummy! I opted for perhentian kecil which is said to be less crowded than perhentian besar but both are beautiful. Do bring loads of powerful sunblock ( im... More
