It is dull and unexciting. There is no special design or architectual features at all. It is not worth taking a 3 hr journey from Marrackech to see.

Well worth a womble - really stunning picture opportunities. Be careful around the port or you will find yourself on a tour of ships being built (interesting but a big tip expected!) Worth paying to go in the fort.

We walked on the ramparts every evening, enjoying the cooler temperature and slight breezes. It seems as if half the medina are out taking a stroll. It is highly recommended.
We went on a day trip to Essaouira. The ramparts are easily accessible and afford a wonderful view of the town, the beach and the ocean. Well worth a visit
