Unless you want to buy fish there isn't much of a reason to spend a lot of time here. The blue boats and the boat building is picturesque against the crenellated rampart walls.

Stroll around the fishing port. It is interesting with all those smaller and bigger boats, fishing nets lying around, seagulls screaming. It has a very local flavor without touristic nonsense.

If you can ignore the fishy smells and get a tour and history of this fishing port it is well worth it. The port is small and yet very active with daily catches. A great place to go and just watch people.

We really enjoyed our half hour being shown round the fishing port by Abdul, a retired fisherman with 45 years experience behind him. He just latched onto us and started showing us round. He was so knowledgeable and friendly that we just went with it...More

Get past the smell and 3 million seagulls and you can experience something more local than the tourist shops and streets of the Medina!

Well worth the trip out from Marrakesh, lovely blue and white painted houses, different from the Okra colour. Mednia a delight to walk around, not the usual hassle. Really enjoyed the walk around the port, everyday life of Morroco at it's best. Saw an aray...More

This is quite a place, a huge collection of small fish sellers right at the spot the fishing boats come in. Plus a thousand sea birds dining on scraps. It’s just outside the Médina and you see the old fortifications and cannons nearby. I met...More

Nice place to walk through - seeing the old fort from the tower of which you can see the Medina, the sea, fishing boats and see the ancient 16th century fort island

Not that we could see. My husband says they are dredging-perhaps the first step in this process. Hope they won’t throw out the small fishing boats. Sorry I had not seen this. I think I was away after that.
