It is so different from everything that we know in European culture. And it is clean, safe and very interesting.

This old city sits at the mouth of a lagoon with camels and flamingos in the background. The round themselves provides an interesting insight into a previous time.

If you enjoy wandering around old ruins and imagining what it must have been like, this is a good one. Great views overlooking the sea where ships would have come in and they have a nice little museum with some prehistoric exhibits they found at the site. There is also a refurbished ship of the time, if you don't mind... More

About 40 minute drive from Salalah through Taqah. Very interesting excavations, beautiful site and lovely views.

Amazing historical site, beautiful landscape. Definitely worth visiting. Gives you a very good understanding of history and culture. If you are limited in time, this is a lot more interesting than the Al Baleed historic site and museum in Salalah.

This place is definitely worth checking out! It only costs 2 riyal to get in. I suggest checking out the museum side first as it explains some of the things you'll see. I went in the opposite order and still had a great time but wish I had done it the other way. The ruins date all the way back... More

This is one place in Salalah which i found can be given a skip. Except for the fact that the city is of old type against the other parts of Salalah, there is nothing special about this place. If you are a person who has never been to old villages or remote towns, then this might be of some interest... More

The ruins of the city are well preserved. Good old architectural structure. A very good place to undertsand the old culture and how ancient civilizations lived. The view of the sea from the footpath is very nice.

Lots of ruins to clamber over, some cordoned off for excavation, but not a lot of signage. Followed signs to the temple, but I don't know if I got there. But very interesting and great views of the harbour, now with a sand bar across the entrance. There is also a gallery with exhibits and more info, and we also... More
