A mix of neo-classical and colonial in design. Unfortunately we couldn't gain entry as this a working building. They were obviously carrying out their usual administrative duties. You can take (outside) pictures though. No problems with security.

This place is not really a tourist destination, but a simple landmark in the city. Visitors to the city, especially first-timers, go to this place just to have a souvenir photo taken in front of it. Nothing much to see here. It's just an ordinary building for some local government offices.

There is nothing to see or do at the capitol building for tourists, it is a place of work for the provincial government employees. Half the building was closed due to safety concerns after the 2013 earthquake and the remaining half is open but not to tourists as far as I know. The building is more impressive from Osmeña Boulevard than up close.

Sometimes there are events outside of the rotunda, especially at Christmas time.

I walked to this land mark from my hotel that was just about 5 minutes walk. The building could be seen from outside as it was a working day. For me it was nothing really special from outside unless I could walk in and see the interior design too.

From historical viewpoint this beautiful architecture was designed by the late famous Architect J.M. Arellano whose works include such iconic buildings as Manila’s Metropolitan Theatre, the National Museum of the Philippines and the Manila Central Post Office Building.

This building is patterned after the U.S. Capitol and standing where Osmeña Boulevard and kilometer zero start. It can be seen from the Osmena Avenue after the Fuente Osmena circle. Prominent from afar in the gleaming white building which is the pride of the Cebuanos.

This building was inaugurated June 14, 1938 by M.L. Quezon, the Philippine Commonwealth President.

We were only up to the garden, the frontage because it was office hours.

Although this building does not represent Cebu and is not that unique, this building is a landmark in Cebu that is worth a visit.

We had hired a taxi for the day and were driving from Cebu City to the mountain lookout to the east. We had not planned to visit Cebu Provincial Capitol, in fact I did not even know about it, but as we were driving past it looked so impressive I asked our driver to stop so we could have a look.

It was designed by the late famous Filipino architect Juan Marcos Arellano and is the seat of government of Cebu Province since it was built in 1937.

It is an impressive and beautiful building, the main feature being a u-shaped concave pediment capped with a cupola.

From ground level if you look up you will read the inscription "The Authority of the Government Emanates from the People".

It was worth stopping for a few minutes.
