About
ANTHILL (Alternative Nest and Trading/ Training Hub for Indigenous/ Ingenious Little Livelihood seekers) Fabric Gallery is a social and cultural enterprise that works to preserve and promote our Philippine weaving traditions by applying them in contemporary design for everyday essentials to attract younger generation of weavers and weave wearers and provide sustainable livelihood to partner communities. ANTHILL works to promote everyday weave wearing. We provide market access to communities and ensure a sustainable and inclusive supply chain through capacity building programs in product design and innovation, business skills, leadership and financial literacy. In this hub, fabrics are more than just ingredients to fashion; it is where culture meets style; it is collective dreaming; it is a way of life.

Anthill is a social enterprise gallery (and workshop) showcasing traditional craft from around the Philippines. They specialise in handwoven fabrics. A wonderful way to see women's crafts supported and skills and techniques maintained. As well as fabric by the meter, the gallery also carries some one-off jewellery pieces, unique gifts, and some great anatomically correct dolls (from recycled and refashioned from old clothing) whose sale contributes to international development projects.
I was lucky enough to be there when Anya (the Princes Ant … Co Founder and Creative Director) was there. Anya is a wonderfully inspiring young woman who was so generous with her time.

The shop is walkable distance from Ayala Mall and the good selection of weaving items. Beside the pretty festival gifts, scarfs and stationaries, there are few traditional clothings. If you are into making you own clothing, there are few excellent woven cloths that could be purchased at the shop.

I took a group of 18 year old Australian students to Anthill. It was a fantastic educational experience. They learned about social enterprise, ethical shopping, celebration of culture and much more. Thankyou so much Anthill!

This lovely team does not just have some of the most fashionable items in cebu in their store but also do not loose any time to explain philippino history and traditions in detail. I love the way how they combine tradition and modernity.

Unexpectedly discovering ANTHILL while walking through a back street continues to be one of my most treasured experiences of visiting Cebu. Truly, I was moved to tears not just by the quality and beauty of their products, but by listening to the story of their work, how it evolved and the goals they are pursuing for the betterment of deserving communities. DO NOT MISS VISITING THEIR SHOWROOM!

In addition to the cool and accommodating staffs that they have, What they are selling is something as a "Filipino Must Have". I bought a polo shirt with accents of weaves coming from IPs from Abra Province that Im really proud to wear :) because it gives me a taste (design) of the present and future that reminds me of my past as a Filipino.
Its Present/Future (design/taste) allows me to use it as a casual day to day wear (within the trend/cool/"uso pero Unique with its own Identity") while its sentimental weaves is something that I personally value (reminder) that as a Filipino we there are some cultures/expressions that are worth preserving :)
Thanks for the cool wear ANTHILL and you will always be an inspiration!

I first encountered Anthill when I needed an outfit for an event. I wanted to wear something that represented the Philippines without looking dowdy. I came across Anthill and bought one kapa in Tesoro’s. It was so comfortable yet still striking that I craved for more pieces. After taking others to Tesoro’s and expanding my collection, I was fortunate to pass by their main hub in Cebu.
The office is tucked away but easy enough to spot using waze or googlemaps.
It is definitely worth a visit to see the beautiful weaves. The people are very pleasant. (Shout out to Hannah!) There’s no pressure to buy especially if it isn’t right for you.
When you speak to them you can sense that they genuinely believe in their product and will not sacrifice quality just for a quick buck.
In any case, it’s a place you should see if you want to see how Filipinos can do fashion.
