I spend a couple of hours here, visiting both temporary and permanent exhibition, very interesting and worth seeing. However, the building is old and has some years since it last been refurbished and looks kind of creepy. No audio guide available, the only help you can get is the Izitravel app, which tells few things about the place.

Beautiful building, and the painting collection is impressive! Sometimes the paintings look like 3D full-hd screens with beautiful landscapes on it. You can see almost every leave on every tree, tiny flowers, etc. Museum is located in the city center of Cluj Napoca, just take a walk, it is worth it! I've been there with my 7yo daugher - she... The Palace must have been an amazing structure built for exhibitions & events. There is a huge art collection, in need of care re lighting & contemporary curating. Obviously no resources available- yet. No English, German or Spanish subtitles or broch available. Unpleasant guards, talking amongst themselves, looking guests up & down, running to turn the lights on one room... More

Beautiful building, amazing collection of paintings. When you walk from room to room, you feel as you are in another time - creaky old wooden floors, beautiful big windows... Magical!

I have been to my fair share of galleries, but this one was just awful. Their collect is pretty small and uninspiring (but it was interesting to see the Contemporary Romanian Art section) however, I can not in good faith recommend this place. Because the guards were simply awful. Totally ruined the experience. When we arrived, my companion bought the... More

the Museum of Art of Cluj is in the Banffy Palace which was built in 1774-1775 by the Duke of Banffy of Hungary which was the governor of Transsylvania;I suppose it is the most important art gallery in Romania after the National Museum of Art in Bucharest;it has a permanent exhibition of valuable paintings of Romanian masters such as Theodor...
