Even if youre just driving past Timisoara its well worth stopping to go and have a look around. Parking seems to be a bit of a pain in the backside so we parked at the nearby shopping mall that has free underground parking and then...More

Is the place where, on 20 December 1989, Timisoara was proclaimed the first free city in Romania marking the beginning of the victory in the revolution against communist dictatorship.

This square is located so centrally that you'll see and stroll through it whatever your plans are. It's kind of elegant, with on one end the cathedral and the other the opera. However, the whole place, and certainly the terraces feel very tourist-like.

This is a lovely piazza - the plantings, the fountain, and the view of some of Timisoara's most lovely buildings make it a great place for just about any activity. It's lined with cafes and restaurants, so you can dine al fresco in the summer....More

It is amazing how western Europeans seem to think that Romania is a crappy place. This square is just another example of how wrong we are. Clean, well kept, quiet, nice bars. Yesterday there was the jazz festival there

When you walk thru... going to the pedestrian walk way you came across to this place. Full of recent history!

Like walking back in time, so peaceful. Every building is so interesting, non the same yet it all just blends in.

Even though both the Unirii Square and the Liberty square are way more beautiful, the Victory Square is the very center of Timișoara, mainly because of the two great buildings on one side and the other of the square: the Orthodox Cathedral and the Opera...More

The best square in Timisoura in my opinion. Located in the center of the city between the Opera house and the amazing Cathedral. Lots of cafes in the area where you can sit outside and chill. Gets very busy at night and often difficult to...More

Before there was a passage of undertraversing the road and a tram line. By the 80s the tram passed through Victory Square. Later there were shops that are no longer working
